Arc 4: Chapter 18

"Fuck." Luke sighs.

I feel myself blush as red as I could possibly be. My face was burning up.

"What the fuck just happened!?" Nick asks us.

"I... I really don't know." Luke says as he sits an awe.

I run out of the room to get away from them.

I sit outside and place my hands on my face.

"What the hell is my problem!? What did I just do!?" I shout to myself.

I sigh and watch the dark rain clouds roll in.

"I'm never going to be able to look at them again." I place my hands on my head.

I let out a sigh and sit in silence.

I hear crying a bit further from me, it's an unfamiliar voice.

I slowly follow the noise, it's Carl. His voice sounds a lot deeper.

"Carl? What's wrong?" I take a seat on the ground next to him.

"My moms gone." He looks at me with his crisp blue eyes.

He seems so much older, he's somehow different.

"I'm sorry." I say softly.

"Can I say something?" I ask.

"Yeah?" He wipes his eyes.

"You changed, I can really put my finger on what it is but you seem a lot different now." I say.

"Okay?"

"It's just weird, b-but in a good way." I stutter awkwardly.

"Thanks." His voice hums.

I give him a half smile.

I feel a rain drop hit the top of my nose. One drop turns into hundreds.

The rain soaks us, but we still sit together gazing into each other's eyes.

He wasn't this annoying little boy anymore.

Suddenly, before I know it Carl's lips are pressed against mine.

My hand caressed his jaw line, I felt his tongue slip past my lips into my mouth. This was so weird, I don't even like this kid.

The rain soaks us but we continue to kiss. I felt something connect between us.

We release our lips, he presses his forehead against mine and he gazes into my eyes once more.

His hands hold onto my upper arms, mine do the same.

"Carl? You out here?" Ricks voice calls.

I turn around and see him standing behind me, watching us.

We both pull off of each other and stand up.

"C'mon you two, get inside and dry off." Rick laughs.

I force myself to chuckle in response to what he said.
I was so embarrassed and awkward right now, I can imagine Carl is too.

"So what do you want to do now?" Carl asks.

"There's nothing to do besides stand here and talk." I say.

"And kiss." He smirks at me.

"No." I say.

"Why? I thought you liked me?" He asks confused.

"Carl, I don't want to date you. I liked our kiss but I can't be your girlfriend." I say.

"Oh." He says with disappointment.

"I don't like you like that." I say looking back at Luke's room.

"I understand." His blue eyes shine in the dimmest of lights.

"I need to make things right, I gotta go." I dismiss myself and walk towards Luke's room.

I gently knock on it, Nick answers.

"Hey Clem." He says.

"Luke, I'm sorry. I don't know why I did that. I'm really embarrassed and I totally regret it." I say hiding my red face in my hands.

"Clem it's okay." He laughs.

"You like him." Nick chuckles and pokes my stomach.

"No I don't." I roll my eyes and cross my arms.

"Yeah you do." Nick laughs.

"Can you stop teasing me!?" I snap.

He just laughs.

"Clem don't feel bad, it's not a big deal. Most girls that I meet like me the minute they lay eyes on me." Luke boasts.

"That's why you were a virgin until your second year of college!" Nick laughs.

"Hey, shut up. I thought the deal was we never told anyone that." Luke says.

"I'm not telling anyone, am I?" Nick say.

"Well, Clem's standing right there." Luke says.

"She's just a little kid. She doesn't even understand what we're talking about." Nick says.

"Yeah I do." I glare at Nick.

"What is it then?" Nick laughs.

"It's when a boy and a girl kiss and after they've kissed she loses her... virgin or what ever you said it was." I try to sound like I knew what it was, even though I had no idea.

There's a silence in the room for a few seconds before Luke and Nick start laughing at me.

I glare at the both of them and wait for their laughing to stop.

"Guys, I'm only eleven!! Did you know what that was when you were eleven!?" I snap.

"No, you're right. I didn't but I knew when I was twelve." Nick laughs more.

"Nick you've been trying to fuck girls since elementary school!" Luke laughs.

"Guilty." He says.

"Can you guys stop and instead of making fun of me, explain it to me." I snap at the both of them.

"No way, that's not my job to tell you." Luke says as he calms down from laughing.

"Don't be mad Clem, we were just having fun." Nick says.

"You guys are so immature." I shake my head.

Nick chuckles and they both start laughing again.

I decide to just leave the room with a sigh.
