Chapter 22

KEVIN POV

You are really a rude prat you know. I am having lunch with Jared he is new and is really nice -Rachel

"Guys we have a problem. She is with Jared," I announced.

"Well what do you expect? She doesn't know what's going on," Zack muttered.

" I still don't see why not. Charlie will understand. She needs to know. For all we know Jared could be trying it kill her again, " Keith said.

"We don't know that it was them," James countered.

" Really? We have a lot of evidence. JARED saw us with her at the diner. The text had the initials, GG, which would indicate that it's the Gora Gang. Not to mention that right after the accident, Jared just happens to transfer to our school? " Keith rushed.

"Nate is taking care of it. At least that's what he said," I said as I continued to text Rachel, in attempt to persuade her to join us.

"Still. Let's get her to meet Charlie. We can say that Charlie is my sister, and then see where things go from there," Keith suggested.

"And what will we get from that?" James asked, exasperated.

"She might trust Charlie more than us then, and listen to her," Zack thought out loud.

"It's a bad idea," James grumbled.

" Look. Charlie is a genius, but we have to start making some decisions. We tell Charlie to meet us today as the diner, Nate brings Rachel and we all talk, " Zack said.

"Why don't we just tell her? She won't believe us, so what's the harm?" I cut in as I put my phone away. Stubborn woman.

" Um, do ya wanna get decapitated? Zack asked sarcastically.

"Yeah, yeah I know Charlie would kill us, but really what's the harm? She isn't trusting us anyways, and with our story, she would just think that we are lying," I answered.

"The chances of her believing us are slim, but they are still there. We know the rumors that we are in a gang, and if we tell her our story and assuming she has heard the rumors, they will only confirm them," Keith said.

"Well, then today afternoon, I say we tell her only the important parts. That someone is trying to get us, and in the process that they hurt her, and that Jared is part of the group trying to harm us," Zack said.

"No. I know that Rachel should be let on about somethings, but any small slip and everything is gone. Just keep Rachel in the dark," James protested.

Hey Charlie, can you meet one of our friends today at the diner? -Kevin

Is this the friend that was nearly killed? -Charlie

Yes. I was thinking you could subtly warn her about the 'dangerous' people -Kevin

I'll see what I can do -Charlie

Thanks -Kevin

Get to class -Charlie

On lunch break -Kevin

"Okay, Charlie agreed to meet Rachel today at the diner," I announced.

"Will Rachel agree?" James asked, giving up on his side of the argument.

"Nate will take care of that," Keith said, putting his phone away.

"If this back fires, I blame you guys," James said. He got up and pushed his chair in.

"Where are you going? We still have 10 minutes of lunch left," Zack asked.

" I have to go see my English teacher, " James answered. He waved bye and disappeared from the cafeteria.

"Okay, so it's all settled. Now we just have to wait and see what happens in class and during tutoring," I sighed, leaning my head on my arm. I looked at the clock, that seemed to get slower, every second.
