The first day ended without any problem at all. Everyone went back to their respective places. In the second day, the Fay royal siblings don't necessarily need to watch over any event. As such, Ceres told them to just stay quietly in their rooms.

Currently, the group was in Lennard's room talking.

"Are you sure that this person is harmless already?"

Lennard was asking Ceres and Gil. It was Gil who responded but of course, Ceres relayed this information to Gil.

"Yes. He already pledge of protecting you instead of harming you. Give him a set of clothes like ours so that he will be able to protect you."

Leonard wasn't of course convinced.

"But he killed the Empress. How do you expect us to believe his words?"

"We cannot do anything if you don't believe us.... Is what Cerio wanted to say."

Leonard faced Ceres and almost snapped again when Leona prevented him from doing so.

"You--!"

"Stop that, second brother. Let's believe Cerio since they saved us once again."

Lennard massaged his temples before asking Ceres and Gil.

"We already offended this kingdom by taking this person but aside from that, how do you expect us to report this incident back to our kingdom? Can't you at least tell us why do you want to take this guy anyway?"

Gil didn't respond this time because he didn't receive any orders from Ceres.

"I will only need him for a while. I will give him back to you after. He has made an oath to atone for his crimes."

There was silence when Ceres spoke. Then, everyone was waiting for the continuation of her reply but she just stopped talking once again.

"That's all?"

"Are you serious? You don't expect us to just say okay with that vague answer!"

Lennard and Leonard couldn't help but protest to Ceres.

"Anyway, that's all I can say. I need to do something and thus, this person will be responsible for guarding Leona in my stead."

With that, Ceres started walking out of the room. She was followed by Gil.

"Paulin... Why don't you eat your supper?"

Paulin was currently lying down on her bed and ignoring Roven.

Roven couldn't help but sigh. He didn't know why his sister would start acting like this as soon as he has free time to be with her.

The banquet ended late and Roven had to be present in the opening ceremonies on the first day of the competitions. Thus, he wasn't able to find time to be with Paulin. He can only see her when the first day of the competitions ended.

"What did big brother do this time?"

"You... You don't want me anymore?"

Paulin didn't face Roven but she spoke such harsh words about herself.

"It's not true. You know that we've been together all this time, right? I just... I hope you'd understand that I now have some duties to fulfill as the Child of Light."

Paulin sat straight and started looking at Roven. Roven couldn't help but smile wryly.

"I have long known that you would choose your status over me. If only I have prepared myself for this, I wouldn't have stayed with you all this time."

Pauling started grabbing the food which was placed in the bed side table.

"After eating, I would like to go... Go away from this place."

Roven knitted his brows. He couldn't help but silently watch as Paulin start eating. He could even see tears slowly forming in her eyes.

"I will bring you with me tomorrow, if you'd like. Just... Don't leave my side, okay?"

Paulin stared at Roven and silently nodded.

But while looking down, a glint in her eyes could be seen. She must have won once again.

In the tower at a certain place in the Winsterein kingdom...

Glenn was locked up in a cell.

His cell was actually not shabby and was even properly cleaned. Yet, he kept on sitting in a corner with his eyes closed as if waiting for something.

After some minutes passed, a guard brought over his food and went ahead with other cells.

Glenn didn't bother going near the food until the guard watching over him went out. He didn't touch the food but only retrieved a small piece of paper which was hidden inside a bread.

Wait.

That was the only word written in the paper. Glenn crumbled the paper before deciding to eat it. His chains were actually magic tools that prevent him from using his magic. Thus, the only way to destroy the paper was to eat it.

"I can wait and endure this humiliation."

Then, Glenn smirked and went back to his own meditation.

In the northernmost region of Winsterein kingdom...

A woman wearing an ice blue gown and has concealed her face and hair with a brown hood was silently watching the snowstorm fall down in this certain area.

"The barrier is weakening."

She quietly stood in front of the barrier protecting their clan for hundreds of years. She then, gently rubbed her belly.

"They must come immediately or else..."

Little did she know that someone was quietly watching her, too.

Somewhere in Winsterein kingdom, a large vermillion bird was once again flying in the sky.

"That place again, huh?"

A man sitting on top of the vermillion bird closed his eyes and let the vermillion bird be in charge of their destination. But deep inside that vermillion bird, he was cursing himself because he couldn't really curse the man riding on him.

Why is it me again? -tbc
