At dinner, hours after the witch has left:
"We better get going," I tell them as I get up.
"Yes," Peter agrees, looking at Edmund and then turns to me. "We should get some rest before the fight tomorrow," It looks like he wants to say something else, but he doesn't.
Edmund just stares at the both of us and gives Peter a funny look.
"Well, I'm gonna go now. Goodnight guys." He says and then heads out. Once he's out of earshot, Peter turns to me.
"Listen, Imira, there's something I want to talk with you about," He says, looking serious.
"Alright, what is it?" I ask him curiously. What could he want to talk to me about?
"Not here," he says looking around. "Too many ears,"
Ah, so it's something a bit more personal. "We can talk in my tent if you want," I suggest. Going past the treeline or standing alone in the open does not seem like a sensible idea. If Susan and Lcuy were attacked in broad daylight by Maugrim and his pack, who knows what's lurking out there. And while taking Peter to my tent alone is not sensible either, I'd rather not risk dying until tomorrow.
He agrees and we start walking down the path that leads to my tent and he follows me inside.
It is a small tent so there isn't much room to lounge at.
"So?" I ask him expectantly.
He looks nervous. I wonder just what it is that he wants to tell me.
"Uhm, so, I wanted to talk with you about, uhm, about tomorrow... you know the fight." He shifts nervously.
"What about it?"
He takes a step forward, "In case I don't make it-"
"Don't say that Peter," I interrupt him, "don't say that," I tell him taking a step forward myself. If you go into a fight with that mentality, you'll never make it. Mindset is everything, and during a fight, positivity and spirit is key.
