IMIRA'SPOV
At last, the time came to leave Cair Paravel and board the ship had come. As soon as Captain Oberhon confirmed my suspicions, I was renewed with a sense of purpose. All tiredness was drained from my body and instead, an unquenchable urge for adventure replaced it.
Peter led the colourful procession down to the docks with Edmund and Lucy by his side. I rode behind with Lord Peridan until we finally reached our destination. Captain Oberhon had already returned to the Splendour Hyaline, which was as neat as a pin and ready to sail when we arrived at the waterside.
Standing on the quay, I admired the vessel. The Splendour Hyaline was a truly magnificent ship and worthy of its name. Worthy to be the royal galleon. Her prow was adorned with a magnificent carving of a swan's head, with huge wings reaching back almost to her waist. It was also decorated with silken sails and great stern lanterns. Nevertheless, she was also fast and equipped for battle, so that she could have out-run or sunk any ship. Three other ships were to sail with us. Surely we would be enough to vanquish the pirates.
As the parade arrived, Oberhon ordered the raising of the mainsail. The sight was inspiring as well as imposing. A vast sheet of dark blue, the sail, bared a fine depiction of Aslan. I was admiring the grandeur of it all when Lucy turned to fare me a good trip.
"Do be careful, Imira," she said, giving me a hug. "And kick some pirates off-board for me," she whispered in my ear, making me chuckle.
"I wish you all the best of luck, and may Aslan return you all to our shores," Lucy said to us all. Very Queenly of her. I could picture Susan saying words like those.
After an exchange of heartful hugs, we finally boarded the ship. The Splendour Hyaline pulled away to the sound of rejoicing trumpets as Peter and Edmund waved goodbye.
"You're not gonna wave at the crowd?" Lord Peridan asked me as I stood by the stairs leading up to the helm of the ship.
"It's not me who they want to see," I said to him. "What about you? Are you not gonna wave at your admirers? I saw some ladies staring at you as we rode down,"
He shook his head with a boyish smile and a light chuckle. I was going to make a comment addressing his liking of Queen Susan but decided against it.
Soon, there was nothing of Narnia to be seen, and looking over the railing, the sea seemed to go on forever. There was no going back now. We were finally going to do this.
