LUCY'S POV

We disembarked and were met by palace guards and noblemen. I recognized one of them from the Battle of Beruna, Maxwell I believe is his name. He stood there dressed in grand clothes next to a pretty lady in a purple gown.

"Rebekah, Maxwell, what a surprise," Imira greeted them.

"We heard you were on your way and wanted to be the first to greet you," Rebekah said.

"How nice of you both. May I present Queen Lucy of Narnia," she said turning to me.

"It is a pleasure to meet you, your Majesty," Rebekah said, as everyone bowed or curtsied.

"I hope your journey here was pleasant, Queen Lucy," Maxwell said.

"It was," I say glancing briefly at Imira. "Very pleasant. Datram is much more beautiful than I thought at first when we crossed The Gate,"

"Oh, yes. The Gate doesn't paint a pretty picture, but it kept our enemies at bay for decades," Maxwell says as Rebekah and Imira chat and Sir Threston and the others make sure our possessions are brought out of the ship and are ready for transportation.

"Yes, Imira mentioned so. It was a very clever idea. So, this is Datram?"

"This is Vissenport. Datram is behind the wall," he said pointing north to the city.

Once the horses were on land, we began riding to the castle.

The city was very big and very beautiful. Althea had described it on our way here, but I thought she was exaggerating.

"The city is very, very big. There are three walls surrounding the city: one outer wall," she said drawing a circle with her finger, "one middle wall," she said drawing another, "and one castle wall. These walls separate the Castle, the  Herrangur ( the circle of Lords), and the Folkafla (the people's circle). The Folkafla is the outer ring of the city and it's divided into twelve sections. That's where the market's at. Past the first ring comes the second wall and behind it the circle of Lords. The second sector is divided into six smaller sectors, each in charge of two people's sectors. There is one Lord collector of each sector that is in charge of taxing and securing the sections under his command. There's also the Hall of Knowledge. That was actually the first castle ever built on Daxam. It functions as a house of study now. History, medicine, the arts, all that. Then comes the final wall that protects Castle. The streets are wide and all the buildings are made of white stone. There's illumination at night in the streets and running water to the bathing houses. Gardens on every sector and guards patrolling the streets. Statues and gardens and fountains, it's all very beautiful,"
