                                                                           Chasten Harmon as Mara

                                                                                               -AND-

                                                                           Mercedes Morris as Xenia

After the Blackout, she can't take holing up at the base when there's countless civilians suffering out there, including her nephew Trey. Mara finds him pretty quick but not alive. On her way back to base if she's even going anywhere, she meets a man named Jeremy who shares his supplies with her and lets her take a break for a minute, there are no breaks though. The beating she gets trying to defend Jeremy from these punks trying to steal everything he has just fuels her further and starts to bring her back to life. Fortunately or unfortunately, two dumb asses pop out of the woods and distract them long enough for her to break their necks. And when one of them starts trying to monologue about how this new world needs an order, she doesn't want any part of it. Sebastian convinces her to take the night to think it over.

Roughly a decade later and she regrets that night, the Monroe Republic and her influence hasn't stopped anybody's babies from dying. And after one more night sitting quiet with Sebastian in the dark, she drops it all. She remembers fantasizing about finding Trey and taking him South past Chihuahua. Mara discovers it's a common fantasy when in one small town she finds a boy who looks like Sebastian -- apparently while she was leading battles for the Republic, Miles was doing what she always wanted to do. Teaching and raising this awkward boy who reminds her of the man who brought her back, the man she knows better than anybody else, somehow makes more sense than going back to the Republic. Add in the skirmishes with the Nunez cartel and it's practically a dream retirement. But Connor's a little too much like his father -- and it has nothing to do w his volatile girlfriend Xenia -- the more shit he pulls, the longer she leaves for. Until she's pulled out of retirement totally when she hears about a small group including a man who must be Sebastian while she's in what used to be Tamaulipas

LITTLE EXTRA : I fucking love Chasten/Bessie. That's really it.

Oh but if you don't, then here's Gabrielle as a back up

UPDATE: I couldn't help myself so I added in a love interest for Charlie (Xenia)
