Trudy was her hero growing up. She commanded, she transcended, and Amina wanted to be exactly like her. But she wasn't, Nova was. Prosper was her legal guardian growing up but Amina was mostly on her own -- teaching herself how to heal him and others with whatever tools were provided while he worked himself to the bone for his daughter and her. Ever since, her community's relied on her to heal, not unlike how Nova's relied on to lead and speak -- they both protect -- but Amina knows what she wants, she wants to live, stay in her town and forget.
Remy's called her over because one of his guys broke his finger and it's a normal day until she's throwing up. She's always childishly and irrationally prided herself on being a gold star up until this past year, but she knows deep in her being she's pregnant and she's not denying anything to herself. Amina thought she knew everything, but she doesn't know how to make these decisions. Leaving Remy's property she pulls over and cries for the first time in years and suddenly Trudy's daughter's there with her.
Nova's been supporting her mostly through making pregnant jokes and giving the best eye sex of her life for over a month but now she needs Amina's support.
LITTLE EXTRA: I honestly have no idea at what point in the story Amina should come in at -- it'd be amazing for her to be there from the beginning, least from Ernest's funeral,but it'd also be BEYOND satisfying if she was introduced S2-S3 so she could shit all over Remy when Nova and him get closer ................. b/c Idk if I'm the only but got a massive hate-on for Nova/Remy I just had to say it -- although like Lexa did for with Clarke on The 100, Nova is making me warm up to Remy but just like Clarke no promises I'm gonn stay liking him for long
