Nellie has the most loving, caring family a kid could ask for, and yet for the first and only time ever she was messing with the idea of running away when her father and pops overreacted to a classmate's murder and threatened to send her off Daufuskie and all the way up to North Carolina. She tried to solve the murder herself with that children's logic that she could fix things and nothing has to change. It's going on 6 yrs since she failed to Nancy Drew her way out of that one-way road trip up to Cape Fear, only to find out her auntie moved a few more hrs away to some beaches that just don't measure up against home. She stops being bitter about it when she meets a beautiful girl who takes her out to meet her friends at Jockey's Ridge. They understand her in ways she never expected the three boys especially -- who can relate to the way she stares at Kie all while not knowing somebody can't take their eyes off her.

So I have very conflicted feelings about this show y3ni I only watched about half of the whole thing since I was actively skipping scenes with the Camerons in them there's some parts of the series that's pretty addictive though
As for the storyline after the finale I'm really not feeling the idea of half or more of the screen-time being spent on John B and Sarah on their own adventure so I was feeling like more people would come after Pope, Ki and JJ and they'd run for everybody's safety -- they'd go on a road trip down to Mae Mae's family's spot in Cape Fear and maybe get into some spooky shit or just bonding in general and eventually they'd end up back home on Daufuskie to find John B and Sarah crashlanded there and maybe they solve that old murder together
UPDATE : So even though I really like this show and can't wait for Cleo and Pope to take over and monopolize screen time about half the cast's still trash so to be clear Rudy Pankow is not JJ far as I'm concerned Gavin Casalegno's JJ, Kie could be played by Coco Rebecca Edogamhe and John B's FC could be Jorge López -- if you aint feeling them I got some alternatives though like always
