She lives on for her aunt she wouldn't be who she was without her father but her aunt is equally responsible, and with every move she fights to keep Elia Targaryen's legacy alive. That's why she was planning to treat with Aegon. All her plans are derailed when somebody vying for the throne has her kidnapped and shipped across the Narrow Sea. The aftershocks of forces beyond her understanding ravaging Westeros interrupt her journey and leave her stranded before she could even see what awaited her in Essos

Despite being so well-travelled, he's less familiar with Westeros than most. He was never curious, and after accepting coin from the Greyjoys and meeting the Ironborn, he is even less so. But when a tempest reminiscent of the tales he'd heard of the Doom of Valyria leaves his company and others ship-wrecked on Valyria, he finds himself intrigued. Because not only does he meet a princess who is nothing like he imagined Westerosi to be, but those shockwaves were coming from the West, not Valyria
A LITTLE EXTRA : So feel free to include the White Walkers, but this plot actually does have the Doom again -- basically a chaotic, apocalyptic disaster movie happening in Westeros -- and since that shit was a mystery Arianne & Co about to be figuring out what type of magic's destroying the land this time
