Ever since volunteering during the storm Rose's devoted her life to supporting communities in the gulf specifically those at high risk of catastrophic climate change effects. Her boyfriend, Conor, and the couple of research assistants she's got on the payroll see her as this bundle of sunshine and hope but w her work it's hard to keep hope alive. That's why she's so excited when she gets selected for the program in Wakanda to exchange information and learn new ways to protect against and combat the effects of climate change. Even though she was half a world away from her loved ones her time there was a revelation; she made a new best friend who happens to be royalty and she has something resembling a solid game plan least for St Bernard Parishes. She was even more excited to come back than she was to go -- just so she can get started on the real work on the ground in Delacroix and reunite w everybody -- til her best friend M'Baku all of a sudden decides it's time to take his own trip.

And yea clearly I'm a romantic bc once again everybody's coupled up and although the OCs here I kinda secondary characters they -- Rose especially -- how Sarah and M'Baku meet and yea I realize how ridiculous this might sound but fuck it I'm a heaux for a good crackship and I'm tired of acting otherwise
Also yes both Clare and Charlie are in here bc I rewatched Children Of Men recently (after watching The Feed had me craving more Clare) bc I love them both so much -- but if Charlie aint the one white boy to wear locs in a movie who didn't turn you off Uli Latukefu could be Conor too
I guess the main story here's the development of both M'baku and Sarah which she really needs more of since she lost a whole husband and it was barely touched on but if you want a little more on these OCs LeAnne and Jesse first befriended each other when they were the two new students in new foster homes on the Chitimacha reservation and then stayed together and had each other's backs moving away after they graduated looking for some better opportunities and that's where Rose came in
