Some group kidnaps him in the dead of night all just to drag him in front of a boulder. He should've know they weren't regular assassins before then and right before everything disappeared he heard one of the men mention two words -- which held no meaning to him but seemed significant to the man considering his tone -- without ever moving his lips : "monolith" and "mutant."

There was nothing and then too much everything; buildings taller than anything he'd ever seen, vessels rolling across smooth, black streets, and the people are so loud. They don't look at each other, talk to each other, smile or greet each other, but they're saying everything to him, things they'd never say aloud -- least not back home -- things he never wanted to know.

He's in an alley, not even caring about these men kicking him while he's already down, just wishing more than anything they'd be quiet. And all of a sudden they are; she shuts them up, lifts him up with calming hands and eyes and yet not nearly as calming as her mind. That's all it takes for him to believe in her, be confident that if anybody could take him home it's Kamala, because she could clearly do anything

LITTLE EXTRA :  s/o @pandaleft on Tumblr for that gorgeous GIF -- you get to decide what time period Jai's from, Riz Ahmed's a back-up face claim for him if you somehow don't find the baddest from Kingdom attractive and Suhaee Abro's Ms Marvel
