Neither of them ever had any interest in or dreams of going to the U.S. but after meeting each other for the first time at the wrong party in Tuxtla, they don't see a option where they don't leave their homes behind -- least for the foreseeable future. They don't know whether to resent each other for reminding them of their decisions to go out for once or to seek comfort in the only other person they can trust, maybe there's no time for either. When they're saved by two teens, Maine and O, outside Santo Padre in possibly even more danger than themselves, they find out they need to make time.
