Him and his foster sister -- who's closer to his mother considering how little time their parents spend with them or even in the country -- are the new kids in town. After the fuckshit that got Dwight expelled from their last school and would've got Ruby Mae too if it didn't go down at her graduation ceremony, they're both ready for this clearly vanilla town. Not only is Ruby Mae impulsively starting a business with Beni, the shady outcast who clearly doesn't belong, but his first day starting at school and there's chaotic, tear-the-school-down beef between the two Regina Georges who are clearly not best friends forever.

A LITTLE EXTRA : Credit goes to eastasiansonwesternscreen for the George GIF and to booasaur for the Kabrina GIF ngl the Kelcey GIF's super old back from before I knew to give credit and I have no idea where it was from
With all the ways Hollywood's fucking over Kelcey Mawema brilliant, young self, I felt like this was necessary since we're 2/3 of the way through the series and we can count the number of lines Emily's had on one hand -- so based on Genevieve's punkass violating poor Jamila in the first book Emily's going through some personal shit, that's rougher than Genevieve's weak ass excuse for everything how her father's two-timing with a younger woman, and she crosses a line and Genevieve goes nuclear -- meanwhile Dwight steps right in the middle of it
So Ruby Mae and Dwight's parents are entirely too rich to fuck with their kids and while they provide for them, they both want their own money so that's what they're doing just in real different ways -- Ruby Mae and Beni are artists you can decide if they're getting into music or something else
