Chapter Twenty Five

NK dropped Seema home and Akash dropped Payal home. That night, Seema noticed that there was something up with Payal. She seemed… lost. Seema couldn't quite put her finger on it but she was going to get to the bottom of it.

That night, after everyone went to bed, Seema went to Payal's room and found her awake, sitting in bed.

"Jiji," Seema called out, "are you okay?"

"Um… yeah…?"

Seema sat down on the edge of Payal's bed. "Stop lying Jiji. Now tell me. What's up? You seem... lost Ever since we came back from- wait a minute… did you…?"

"What," Payal asked innocently.

"Did you and… you and Akash… you know…??"

Payal nodded slowly, feeling embarrassed.

"Oh my gosh," Seema squealed out.

"Sssh!!!"

"Oh, right, sorry. But oh my gosh! Jiji!" She nudged Payal and Payal rubbed her arm.

"Ssh! Don't tell anyone!"

"Who would I tell?"

"Oh cummon! What about Jiji?"

"Right… I won't."

"Better not."

"I won't" Seema grinned.

Something flew into Payal's head. "Seema?"

"Hmm?"

"Did you… did you and NK…?"

"Um… Jiji…" but she didn't say anymore.

"Tell me Seema. Did you?"

Seema nodded slowly. "…twice."

"Twice?!"

"Sssh!!!"

"Sorry! But twice," she whispered in the end.

Seema shrugged because she didn't know what to say.

Payal couldn't believe it. "When did all this happen?"

"Um… one day I tutored him at their penthouse… and then… today?"

"Are you serious?"

Seema simply nodded.

"Wow."

"Shut up! Like it's only gonna happen to you once," and Seema twitched her mouth.

"You mean…" but Payal couldn't say any more.

"What's wrong?"

"I mean… you've heard all the rumors-"

"Jiji, none of it is true."

"What?"

"Yeah. Nanheji told me. None of them ever did anything before. All of those rumors were never true."

"You sure?"

"Jiji, I swe-"

"Don't swear."

"Okay, I won't. But you believe me right?"

"I believe you."

Seema smiled and Payal realized something.

"What did you call him," Payal asked.

"Call who what?"

"NK. What did you call him?"

Seema pretended that she didn't know what Payal was talking about.

"You called him something else… and you almost called him that the other day when we were with Jiji."

"Alright… yeah I call him something else."

"And that would be…?"

"…Nanheji."

"Aww! How cute," Payal gushed. "But it's okay. I mean I call Akash by Akashji and-"

Payal stopped herself but Seema caught it.

"Oh… so it's "Akashji"? Cute!"

"Shut up."

Seema nudged Payal and the two laughed.

"Jiji? I was thinking about something."

"What?"

"Well… you know how they said that Arnav likes Jiji?"

"Yeah…?"

"What if we helped him? You know, get Jiji's attention?"

"That's a good idea! But what do we do?"

"I don't know now… but I will eventually… I think."

Payal tried to think of a way. "Dude, I can't think of anything."

"Neither can I…. Wait!"

"What?"

"We might not be able to think of something, but I know someone who will."

"Who?"

Seema smiled slyly and wiggled her eyebrows. "Now the real fun will begin," and she smirked.
