The party lasted for another couple of hours until people started to leave. Josh found himself talking and greeting people he hadn't seen since he was a child, he noted that he would be having a talk with his parents later.

"We should probably be getting back." Riley stated. "Farkle will be expecting us." Her and Maya shared a look and erupted into giggles. Josh gave them a strange look before the three sprang into action and said their goodbyes to their families.

Maya held Chet one last time, kissing him on the forehead and giving him back to her mother before she hugged Shawn goodbye.

"Dont be a stranger, kiddo. You haven't come around so often since you started school." Shawn told her as he hugged her tight. Maya pulled away and smiled at him.

"I'll come over next weekend. I want to spend more time with Chet." Maya told him. They said the rest of their goodbyes and headed out of the building and to Josh's car.

"You mind if I lay down in the back?" Riley asked as they reached the car. "I'm beat, like to get a little catnap in before our night tonight." Riley stated as she looked over at Maya. Josh rolled his eyes, yeah right.

"Sure." Maya nodded her head. Riley smiled at them before she opened the door to the backseat and climbed in. Josh and Maya shared a look before they got into the front seats.

"Dont call for me, I'll be listening to music." Riley told them as she put her earbuds in her ears and pressed play on her phone. She laid her head down on her arm and closed her eyes.

Josh shook his head as he turned his car on and started the drive back to NYU. The car ride was mostly silent through out the way back to their dorms. Maya kept her eyes out the window, watching the scenery as it passed by.

Josh glanced over at her from the corner of his eye before he cleared his throat.

"So what is it that you and Riley are doing with Farkle tonight?" He asked. Maya looked over at him and chuckled before she looked back over to the window.

"Galentine's Day." Maya stated. Josh looked over at her with an amused smirk.

"What?" He asked. Maya laughed. "What is a Galentine's Day?" He asked her. Maya shrugged her shoulders.

"It was something that Riley and I came up with back when we were in middle school." She explained. "Back when neither of us really had boyfriends, we came up with the concept of Galentine's Day. The one day of year where we allow ourselves to sit around and feel sorry for ourselves while everyone else is out making out and sharing roses. But we do it together."

"That's-"

"Depressing?" Maya cut him off. "Yeah, we've been told." She chuckled slightly. "It's also a way for us to spend time with each other. For a long time it was just me, Riley and Farkle. Since none of us have dates today, we're going to just hang with each other."

"So Riley and Lucas are officially done, huh?" Josh asked. Maya thought for a moment before she shook her head.

"I dont think so. Sure it doesnt look good now, but I'm sure they'll find their way back to each other eventually." Maya told him. Josh smiled.

"Good. He's good for Riley." Josh stated. Maya smiled.

"They're good for each other."

Neither of them said anything else for the rest of the ride, but both Josh and Maya were feeling more comfortable around each other. Once Josh parked his car, Maya smiled at him as she turned her around and shook Riley in the backseat.

"Wake up sleepy head. Dont want to keep Farkle waiting." Maya stated. Riley woke up and stretched as she looked up and saw Josh and Maya staring at her. Josh and Maya shared another look with each other before laughing out loud. Riley gave them a look as they all got out of the car.

Riley and Maya started walking towards their building, Josh right beside them. It was like an unspoken agreement that Josh was going to make sure they got back to their dorm all right, NYU was filled with a lot of suspicious people.

Once they were at their door, Riley noticed Farkle who seemed to be waiting on them outside of their room. Farkle looked awkward standing there with Josh and Maya, even though he had apologized to the both of them, he still felt guilty for what he did.

Riley opened the door and her and Farkle went into the room leaving Maya and Josh out in the hallway for a moment. Maya turned towards Josh and smiled at him.

"Well thanks for the ride." She told him. "I hate the subway." Josh chuckled.

"I know." He stated. "It would have been stupid to take the subway, I was going to the same place you were going."

"What did California say when you talked to them?" Maya asked him. Josh stared at her for a moment before he nodded his head.

"I go in April for an interview, its pretty much a slam dunk though." He told her honestly. "I'll graduate and then the next day I'll head out to Quantico." Josh told her. Maya's eyes widened.

"Wow. That's not much of a notice." Josh shrugged his shoulders.

"The sooner the better, I guess." Josh whispered. Maya stared at him.

"You'll do great, Josh. This is everything you've ever wanted." Josh stared at her. He shoved his hands in his pockets.

"Not everything."

His voice was raspy and his eyes bored into hers. Maya felt her breath hitch and her heartbeat speed up.

"Josh-" The door opened and Riley looked in between them. Josh closed his eyes and silently cursed his niece. That was the second time tonight that she had interrupted them.

"Sorry, I was just wanting to see what was taking so long." Riley said as she stared wide eyed at them. Josh looked over at Riley with a slight galre.

"We were just saying goodnight." Maya smiled at Riley. "Goodnight Josh." Maya said as she walked past Riley into the room. Riley slowly looked up at Josh with a guilty smile on her face.

"Sorry." She said. Josh sighed and waved goodnight at his niece before turning around and walking away.
