NOBODY BUT HIS SPECIAL ONE

"Candidates number 4, Ms. Venice Gonzales and Zion Castillo!"

Napuno ng sigawan ang lugar kung saan ginaganap ang contest. People keep on shouting and whispering his name shipping with his partner, and it's so damn hurt.

I observed how confident and happy they are. Smiling from ear to ear while making a sweet pose to get the attention of everyone. I smiled bitterly. I think they're right. They really look good together. Isang maganda at isang gwapo unlike me, I'm just a nerd who will never exist to everyone.

Agad nagtama ang aming mga mata. He smiled and winked at me. I did the same but I know that was a fake one. Hanggang sa dumating ang announcement of winners ay nanatili lang akong nakaupo sa isang tabi, cheering and praying for him, silently.

"And our Mr. Valentines of the year is no other than Mr. Zion Castillo!" as the emcee announced the winner, the crowd started to make sounds. Napatayo naman ako sa aking inuupuan at bahagyang pumalakpak.

"Omygosh, sila ang nanalo ni Venice!"

"Hindi ba ang mananalo daw may free date? Edi, magdedate sila. Kaiinggit naman."

"Sana all nga. Ang swerte naman nila."

Mariin akong napapikit at napaupong muli nang marinig ang kaliwa't-kanang komento ng mga estudyante. Perks of having a handsome boyfriend, masyadong nakakaselos.

"Anong masasabi mo sa iyong pagkapanalo?" Napatahimik ang mga tao nang marinig ang tanong ng emcee. Tila ba naghihintay sila sa kaniyang isasagot.

He roamed around his gaze like he's looking for someone at nang makita niya ako ay napangiti siya.

"To be honest, I shouldn't be here in the first place. Wala akong confidence na sumali sa ganitong contest. I always reject my advicers or whoever everytime na gusto nila akong isali sa pageant but because of her, my mind changed. He cheered me up and let me see the positive sides of everything," mahaba niyang litanya na ikinatahimik ng lahat.

"And I am so sorry but I can't accept the free date with Ms. Venice 'cause I'll never date anyone if it is not,my Samantha," dagdag niya na ikinasinghap ng lahat.

Dahan-dahan siyang bumaba na hindi inexpect ng lahat. My eyes started to create tears. Napayuko naman ako nang makalapit siya sa akin.

"Love, look at me," he said while still holding the microphone.

Agad kong pinusan ang mga luhang tumakas sa aking mga mata bago tumingin sa kaniyang mga mata. He held my hand, gently and I know he felt how cold it is. Nakita ko ang kaniyang pagngiti. A genuine smile of him everytime we're together.

"I don't need these sash, trophy or anything because when you said yes to me that time, I already got my dream prize that no one can't steal from me. A priceless one that no one can buy. Thank you and I love you love. You may be a nobody to everyone but for me, you're my special one."

As he said those words, nagsimulang magpalakpakan ang mga tao.

Damn, He never fails to win my heart.
