Being A Hopeless Romantic

A week later Luna and I were sitting in the Great Hall talking about the upcoming apparition test. It was coming up in almost a month and I felt completely unprepared.

"Do you think you'll do well?" Luna asked me while putting food on her plate and then looking up at me

"I don't know, maybe I haven't studied enough? You don't have to do that by the way." I said as Luna put food on my plate as well

"I like doing it for you, and haven't you been studying for like, three months?" She asked 

"I mean, I guess so. Here's the thing though Luna, let's say I fail this test and then there's not another chance to do it. So my friends can Apparate and I can't so when He-Who-Must-Not-Named comes and then takes me as a prisoner because I can't escape quickly. Then after he is defeated again I come back into society but I don't know anyone so then I have a kid with a random guy but then he leaves so I am a single mom, which I don't think is bad, but I long for a husband. My kids go to Hogwarts and then find out that their mother can't apparate so then they leave me alone in embarrassment so then I die alone with forty toads." I said, taking a long drink after my rant. I looked at Luna who stared at me for a little too long.

"You're a strange girl Y/N," She said taking another bite of her food

I smiled at her "That's why we have such a good friendship, we're both weird!" 

"Yeah, but you do realize you just planned out a whole future where you die alone with...forty toads, because the off chance of you failing this test," She said, stealing a potato off my plate

"One, there's no need to steal my food. Also, it's possible that it could happen!" I said defensively as Neville sat down across from us "Hi Neville!" I smiled

He smiled back "Are you talking about another one of those hypothetical scenarios where you die alone with an absurd amount of animals?" He said and Luna nodded

"It could happen! You never know!" I said, my voice going a little higher 

"You need to stop hanging out with Spencer, he also rambles like that," He said before smiling to let me know he's joking

"I heard my name?" A voice said from behind me

"Son of a bitch" I said and turned around to see Spencer "We need to put a bell on you.." I said and turned back to my food as he sat next to me.

"Yeah, Y/N went on a rant about dying alone with a lot of animals again...wonder where she got that from," Neville said looking at the boy next to me 

"Okay for your information, I have only ever stated I was going to die alone once and that was when Y/N was reading one of those romance novels and I was mocking it," He said defensively 

"It's not my fault you wanted me to read it to you, and also, those books are amazing" I glared

Neville and Luna looked at each other before looking at Spencer who shook his head aggressively. Neville rolled his eyes before gesturing his head to me. Spencer looked at me and sighed

"Look, and I am only saying this because Neville refuses to say so. I know you love those books but Y/N you are such a hopeless romantic" He said

I gasped, offended "You know what, I will banish all of you from my beautiful wedding with singing doves and long vows. I'll live a beautiful life that I have with a wonderful guy...or person...whatever...and you guys will miss out on seeing my two children, one named after something that from our childhood and then the other one will be named after our mothers" I said but stopped as I saw them looking at me
