Chapter 42

Ignoring the murmurs of some staff members that had halted their movements once they noticed Jimin's presence in the room, he took hold of your wrist and pulled you along further away from that pool that had managed to shake your emotions. Once outside on the corridor, Jimin let go of your wrist while he lowered his pace to match yours.

You were yet to be fully aware of your surroundings and he sure gave you the private moment you needed with your thoughts to collect yourself from that occurrence as he just silently escorted you towards the elevator, despite the fact that he was in a hurry for he had paused his filming and requested for a quick break just because he found himself overthinking and worrying about you, after what DongMin had told him about your relationship with large sums of water.

After you stepped into the elevator, you finally looked towards him, realizing fully that he was there while he shouldn't have been, and that thought of yours rolled out of your mouth without thinking much.

"How come you are here?"

"I am delaying my filming because an idiot who I feel responsible for, went to a room that held danger for her, without telling me prior that she had a condition," Jimin replied as he glanced to you by the corner of his eye, enabling you to understand that he was not exactly pleased with the situation.

"I wasn't planning to go near the water, that's why I didn't mention it and besides you don't have to feel responsible for my actions." You argued, in an attempt to specify to him that he had no need to look after you nor now nor in the future for you don't hold him accountable for anything that may go down since these are all your own decisions.

"I send you there, you are working to discover you is after me. Regardless if you are doing that for your own benefits, if you were to get harmed in the process I would feel responsible, so I would appreciate it if you won't be reckless next time and inform me beforehand of any potential issues you may have. Understand?" The elevator door left you free as soon as he finished his sentence and he stepped out of it, not waiting for a response.

You followed after him under some mixed feelings of irritation for he in a way had scolded you again and had made you feel like you were the cause that once he got into that big hall full, he started bowing and apologizing to people for his delay. The scene left you a bit bitter yet you couldn't help but appreciate the fact that he took the responsibility for his actions instead of giving some excuse like that actor from the other cast did earlier when he excuses himself to go the bathroom yet took his sweet time to return.

"Oh, you are here. Come, you are not supposed to be in the room, we are standing behind the mirrored wall." DongMin grabbed your arm and pulled you with him quickly towards a corner that you had not even realized that it was a mirror till you actually stood behind it. One side of the room was covered with it, reflecting the big ballroom in a way that made it seem to double its size while behind that doubled mirror wall, were placed the director and the monitors along with many other staff members who were ready to help in every needed retouch.

"Is everything okay Y/N?" DongMin questioned you in a low murmur once he had brought you into that safe space and you turned and looked at him, realizing that Jimin had no way of knowing except he had told him about it. The thought made you glare at him, finding the fact that he remembers more than annoying.

"You better mind your business next time and keep your mouth shut about my personal things otherwise I will start going around speaking about your fears and phobias too." You snapped at him in irritation, matching his low tone of voice, before you stepped on his foot, making his mouth fall open as a small sound of pain left his mouth, which he managed to control the loud pitch of it on time.

"Fine, fine! I won't do it again." He reassured you and you stared at him for a few more seconds before turning your attention at the front.

The filming of the scene had already started and Jimin seemed radiant, smiling happily as he was talking to a gentleman and a lady with a glass of champagne in his hand. A half-filled glass shook in between his fingers as his gaze fell towards the stairs where his eyes met the main female lead dressed in her beautiful silver gown. However, according to the script, it was not the beauty of hers that had him awestruck but the man that stood by her side. The man she betrayed him with.

The change on Jimin's eyes, from surprise to rage was instant and very effective, so much that many of the staff members around you, hugged themselves in order to cover the goosebumps that took over their skin for he sure made that change seem devious. It was not just some mare seconds ago that was smiling so convincingly that anyone could swear he was having the time of his life and now, he looked like someone who was ready to spill the blood of that man as if it was water. Before today, you had called his acting abilities as incredible talent yet at that moment you couldn't help but see them as more than that. You couldn't help but view that as part of his essence, as a glimpse of his reality that people were not aware of and maybe that was why his acting was superb in comparison to any other so far. Because his acting held a bit of truth inside it.

The female lead linked her arm with her escort and walked down the stairs, ignoring the gaze of Jimin who was purposely looking at her and only her, ignoring the individuals he was speaking to till that very second. He didn't even bother to cover his reactions as per script and the lady and the gentlemen steppes slowly away from him, leaving their weird expressions and judgmental eyes for the camera that was capturing them.

The female lead didn't bother to look at him again, her eyes meeting the eyes of her escort only while Jimin's expressions successfully travelled from that rage to portray an inner conflict of pride and heart for he knew that he was betraying himself with his reaction and was giving her the satisfaction of seeing him broken but his heart had gotten a hold on him, enough to make him stand there and follow her movements like a fool in desperation for a sign that was to prove to him that she loved him still and no matter what.

A small laugh escaped Jimin's lips as the female lead left her escort to peck her lips and his eyes shone in a sickening way right before his facial expression morphed in a pitiful and broken image that lasted briefly yet impacted many. Most of the people around you left utterances of awe at the perfection that he had delivered that scene and their aftershock was followed by some praises and comments that couldn't help but get your mind into thinking.

"He is so damn good."

"He never disappoints."

"Was he always this brilliant?"

"As far as I know, since the beginning of his career, he was praised for his ability to portray emotional complexity."

From the beginning, they said yet you weren't sure when was that beginning exactly but you sure realized what that meant. His condition was not recent, whatever this personality switch that he undergoes could be called exactly, he had not developed it from acting for if he had it from the beginning and was one of the things that made him this famous, to begin with then that meant that he had created that disorder way before he chose this career.

 He didn't choose acting because he was drawn to it, he chose it because it was the best career to use and hide what he already had. Yet if he already had that and it was not acting that caused it, then what was it? You couldn't help but wonder as you kept witnessing him playing his role.

What could have happened that broke him to a point that his pieces could not be put back together anymore?

I suddenly want to know...even though it's not my place...I am finding myself craving...to discover all the secrets that you keep. Everything that could possibly clarify to me, why are you the way you are. Why are you who you are, Park Jimin?
