The Sun prince marched through the empty halls of the manor, reaching the source of all noise, the duke's office. His patience was now long gone and it would not be the Templars to stop him. They eyed him, but before they could say anything in protest, he opened the big wooden doors that separated him from the ladies of the house.

Anger flew through him when he saw the tragic scene unfolding before his eyes. His focus was on the amount of blood that dirtied Lady Lucreatia's dress. Worse than before, way too worse. She needed care, but the adults in the room seemed unaffected by her suffering. The archbishop, Lady Beatrice, however, was having a fit.

It was imperative to move. And catching everyone by surprise, everyone except the archbishop who smiled at his arrival, Francis put his small sword in contact with Lady Beatrice's torso. He put enough pressure to cause a wound and have her release the damned cane, which with a swift move he caught under his foot. She hissed and shrieked as he continued his hold on her through his stab.

He looked at his side to see Lord Joshua, fearful and crawling to a corner of the enormous desk that centred the room. On his other side, he saw Lady Jennifer reaching for Lady Lucreatia, grabbing and cradling her in protection. Further to his side was the archbishop, looking at the scene as if he was only a spectator, yet he was nothing but the main perpetrator of this debacle.

To think he would find such cruelty and disregard of human life on a priest whose promise to the goddess was one of kindness and charity. It appalled him to know these men had control over the faith of his people.

"I order you all to stop this assault!" he returned his eyes to Lady Beatrice, though it was not for her. "Retreat this instant from the Mountnero property!" his voice roared through the room and hurt his delicate throat.

He reviewed the room again before noticing Lady Beatrice eyes focused on the cane that stayed fixed under his steps. Her transfixation on the object tormented him, as he glanced back to Lucreatia's who laid on her sister's arms. The girl was just that, a girl, a child... it bothered him, all of this.

"Your majesty." the rusty voice of the archbishop woke him up from his troubled thoughts. "We are just helping lady Lucreatia..." he grinned, showing his white teeth that provoked disgust on the prince, and he noticed, feral anger from Lady Jennifer.

"You call help, beating a lady until she is barely alive? Release her!" he said deepening his stab on the tutor, causing cries of pain from her throat.

"We would have not resorted to these troubling ways if lady Lucreatia cooperated." the bells connected to the archbishop sceptre started to make a melody as he walked slowly out his place, surveying the prince from his side as he circled the room. "Besides, your highness, someone higher has sponsored this intervention of ours.." the taunting and condescending tone which he talked and looked to them, boiled Francis temper.

"Silence, I am the prince of the Sun Empire! Those lies do not change it!

The man laughed, making his bells rang with him. One of his chubby and tanned hands rested on his large stomach, supporting its up and down movements. For him, they were nothing more than children.

Using Francis distraction in her favour, Lady Beatrice freed herself from his sword and tried to grab the cane. In desperation Francis broke the object with a heavy step, causing a ball of smoke to come from it. Seeing her possession destroyed, turned Lady Beatrice into a mess of cries and screams as if she had lost herself a limb.

Now it was his time to take advantage of the lady's state of mind, and with his sword still unsheathed he came to Jennifer's side, who shook and cried at seeing an immobile Lucreatia. With her breathing decreasing, Francis knew there was not much time left to help her. He heard a small whimpering sound coming from behind the desk, which he followed by reaching closer.

"Lord Joshua, help us bring Lady Lucreatia to a safe room." he ordered, calm as not to scare even more the boy.

At this, the bells rang violently, deafening everyone in the room and making Francis let go of his sword to cover his ears.

"Enough." ordered the man, walking close to the children, passing an inconsolable Lady Beatrice, who cried in the ground securing the cane. "Your highness, I believe your presence is no longer necessary. Templars, come fetch prince Francis." he yelled, hoping those tasked with surveilling the door would come by at his command.

While the door opened, Francis took an effort to get up and pick up his sword with his two hands, as it was now too heavy for only one. His blurry vision saw a figure come inside, but he understood, in a rather quick fashion, that something was not right with the man. From the opened door he smelled blood and he didn't saw or heard anything from the servants, who had once stood there begging.

With a reinforced effort, his vision returned and he could see now, a Templar. However, covered in blood and with dents all over his darken armour. Prince Francis could sense the surprise of the archbishop as the Templar attempted to bow.

"Your excellency... we are under attack..." his long breaths breaking his speech. "Prince Cedric is here with his entourage." the man now was out of strength and supported his hand on his knee.

"How... I heard nothing..." the archbishop, was securing his sceptre with increased force, his knuckles white with the effort.

"They attacked by the north..." a smack on his head with the bells and the man was dead on the ground. Nothing that scared much the room, except Lord Joshua who started to sob like the child he was.

"Idiots..." whispered the holy man.

But with the door open, they all could hear from afar, the commotion growing in intensity. And as the bells of the man shook one final time, shining with a light that surprised their owner, a howling could be heard outside.

The end was near.
