The Differences Between L and Kira

   " Now for the freshman address, freshman representative, Light Yagami. "

   " Yes. " LIght said, standing up from his chair in the crowd.

   " And freshman representative Hideki Ryuga. "

   " Oh, that's up here. "

   ' Oh lord, you can tell the complete difference between them. '

You sat in the rows of students and watched Light and Ryuzaki step on stage to read the freshman address. Light had stood up straight and serious; Ryuzaki, however, was slumped in his usual way, and the shoes on his feet were only slipped on, and he pushed the heel of the shoe down with his heel. Light had a suit on, while Ryuzaki still had the same clothes that he usually wore. Everyone around whispered about Hideki Ryuga and how the person stepping on stage looked nothing like him. 

   ' And why did he pick that name? It's like night and day up there on the stage. He said he was going to pick a celebrity so is Light was Kira he wouldn't be able to write his name because there is a celebrity everyone knows of called Hideki Ryuga, but still. . .'

They both stood together in front of everyone, and it made their differences reflect off of each other.

   " As all of us embark on this new chapter of our lives. . . "

   ' Of course, they would both score the highest. Light's smart and so is Ryuzaki. It seems they're both alike in mind, but physically there are so many differences it's hard not to look at how one wears a suit, stands up, straight, and looks presentable. But the other looks like they just woke up. '

When Light finished, he handed Ryuzaki the same paper to read the address while everyone clapped for him. Once the clapping stopped, Ryuzkai started to recite the address.

   " As we embark on this new chapter in our lives. . ."

   ' Ryuzaki sounds like he doesn't even care while Light actually read it off like a professional. '

Everyone clapped after RYuzaki's address, and Light bowed while Ryuzaki scratched his head and looked at the paper. Then, they both left the stage, and you could spot Ryuzaki's mouth moving, and Light's eyes shift behind him.

   ' I guess this is where Ryuzaki's plan continues. '

I wasn't sitting near them, so I couldn't hear what Ryuzaki was saying to Light, but I had a rough idea of what he was saying. When they sat down, I sighed, not being able to listen to what they were saying.

   ' He told me he's going to reveal himself to Light. He said that he's going to tell Light that he is L. He wants to put pressure on Light and make him crack under the pressure. Or at least get a reaction out of him. I hope it goes well. '

Once the ceremony was over, everyone piled out of the room. I spotted Ryuzaki, and I walked beside him as we left the building.

   " You both looked like complete opposites up there. "

   " Were we? "

   " Yes, it was like night and day. "

Ryuzaki just shrugged his shoulders, showing he didn't care how people viewed him on stage. When we left the building, the cherry petals started to fall around everyone. Ryuzaki was looking around for someone, and when I found Light, I tapped Ryuzaki's shoulder and pointed in Light's direction.

   " Thank you. Hey, Light? "

Light turned towards us, and his expression remained stern.

   ' If Light sees me with Ryuzaki then he'll believe that he's L even more. '

   " Uh. . .nice meeting you. "

   " No, the pleasure was mine. "

   " Well, I'm sure I'll see you on campus. Y/n, I'll let you catch up, I'm going to wait in the limosine. " Ryuzaki said, standing in front of the limousine parked at the entrance.

   " Okay, thanks. "

Ryuzaki got in the limo, and I turned around towards Light. The seriousness in his face dropped a little, but he still looked puzzled.

   " Are you still being detained? " He asked me.

   " I am, but it's not the same as before. Now, I can go to To-oh and go to class, but I have to reside in Ryuga's home. So, I'm allowed to talk to whomever I want and go to college but I must reside with Ryuga. "

   " So, if I go to your apartment-"

   " I won't be there. " I interrupted. 

   " At least you're free to talk with me again. It was weird not talking to you and it didn't feel right. "

   " It was weird. "

   " Speaking of which, here. My father gave me your phone and I kept it while you were detained. You can have it back now. "

Light dug in his pocket and handed me my cellphone back. I took my phone from him and thanked him. I opened my phone and looked through all of my contacts, and saw Watari deleted the Task Force member contacts along with my call history. I slipped my phone in my pocket and looked back up at Light.

   " I would invite you to dinner but now knowing the situation, it seems I can't. "

   " Sorry, Light. "

   " Don't apologize. I know you can't come for other reasons it's nothing personal. I'll let you both go and I'll see you around campus. "

Light put his arms around me and pushed me into his chest. The hug was tight and warm. He rested his chin on my shoulder, and he hugged me as close as possible. I wrapped my arms around him and hugged him back. 

   " Alright, I'll see you later, Light. "

We pulled away from each other, and I got in the car and sat down beside Ryuzaki. Watari started driving away, and Light walked in the opposite direction the limo was going.

   " That was very touching. " Ryuzkai said, putting a thumb to his bottom lip.
