Requested by w-oleff: Tom and Y/N have been together for ten years, and they just wake up one day and decide to get married.

*Hey my loves, just a lil' apology for the lack of posting recently, my dissertation is literally due on Tuesday and my final two deadlines are at the end of the month, hence the lack of posting, but once they're handed in, the chapters should pick up again, so as always, thank you for being so patient with me! Love you guys, and stay safe xoxo*

I sat at the breakfast bar in mine and Tom's kitchen, my eyes on my phone as I sipped my coffee. I looked up as Tom rushed in, my eyebrows furrowing as my boyfriend of ten years stared at me with wide eyes.

"Morning, Tommy, you okay?" I chuckled, though slightly unsurely as I raised my coffee to my lips again and looked back down at my phone.

"Let's get married." My eyes widened, my lips immediately releasing the coffee back into the mug as I choked on it. I coughed and sputtered as I looked back up at Tom, a sheepish smile on his lips as he chuckled.

"I...you...I-what?" I scoffed and shook my head. Tom rushed to me and took my face with his hands, making me gulp as his beautiful chocolate eyes stared into my own.

"I had a dream last night, sweetheart, where we finally got married. And, fuck, it was perfect. So, let's just do it. Let's get married." He smiled and shook his head as his gaze flicked over my face. I gulped and bit my lip, though couldn't help but smile and let my heart flutter at the idea of marrying Tom. And marrying him today too. Tom and I had been together since we'd been twenty, making this ten years of us having been together. The gorgeous and kind boy was truly the love of my life, and I wouldn't change a thing about our chaotic and yet still perfect life, with our days being characterised by me always travelling with Tom for his jobs. But this also came with its disadvantages. Despite the fact that we knew that we were each other's ones and we knew that we wanted to marry each other, we just...hadn't yet. Tom hadn't even officially proposed to me yet, even though I knew that he wanted to make me his wife, but we had just never found the time, or the energy, to do it. After all, we knew that we loved each other, and so it was obvious that we didn't need a piece of signed paper to prove that. That being said, with Tom seemingly genuinely suggesting that we eloped today and now, I wasn't about to say no.

"Are you being serious, Tommy? Like, are you really, really serious about this?" I smiled and shook my head.

"I've never been more serious about anything before, my love. Look, I know that it's never been something that we've been overly concerned about, I know that we love each other without having to get married, but it just feels right, you know? And it feels very 'us' to be so spontaneous with it." He chuckled and shrugged. I returned the chuckle and nodded, my heart getting more excited by the second at the prospect that we were genuinely going to do this. We were actually going to get married.

"You're right, Tommy, it does. Fuck it, let's do it. Let's get married." I nodded.

"Yeah?" Tom smiled and nodded, my boyfriend also clearly getting more excited by the second as his eyes lit up.

"Yeah!" I laughed. Without hesitation, Tom's arms flew around my waist, making me squeal into his ear as he lifted me up and spun me around. We both laughed and squealed, my eyes squeezed shut and my cheeks hurting with how much I was smiling as we held onto each other for dear life.

"You pack our bags, and I'll book flights, darling. Vegas?" Tom asked as he put me down and pulled away, but only enough to be able to look at me.

"Vegas!" I squealed and nodded, making him laugh and lean down to kiss me. He pulled away after a moment, both of us beaming like we never had before as I rushed off to our bedroom to pack, and Tom grabbed his phone to start booking us tickets to Vegas.
