I didn't go back to sleep last night after waking up in the middle of the night , the nightmare and more like memory was making me think of things I haven't since I've met Rick.

Glenn's snores stopped after a while and i close my eyes, pretending to be asleep. I'm good at pretending.

I hear rustling before there's a slight tapping on the tent, I hear a sigh come from Glenn's mouth before the zipper of the tent is , what I'm guessing, pulled down.

Wind blows in my back making me shiver, squeezing my eyes shut tighter.

Don't wake me up. Don't wake me up. Leave me alone. Leave me alone.

"Hey Carl. What's up?" I hear Glenn whispered, probably afraid to wake me but little does he know that I've been awake before him.

"Glenn. Is the girl awake? Can I talk to her? Can she come play with me and Sophia." The boys question causes me to panic. Play? I hear a soft laugh come from Glenn. Please, no.

Don't wake me up. Leave me alone. Say no Glenn.

"What did your dad say?" Glenn ask Carl

"He said to see if she's awake first, and only if she wants to." The boy says lowly, almost as if he was doubting himself.

"Alright." Glenn says, no. I hear more rustling before I feel someone lean over me. I freeze and hold my breath. "I know you are awake. Get up and make some friends." He wisphered , so only I can hear him.

Shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit...

Shit.

I open my eyes immediately and glare up at him, he smiles politely at me from above and gestures his head to a breathless Carl who's head was peeking inside of the tent. Trying to see me but Glenn's was covering me.

"I don't want to." I wisphered back at him, afraid Carl might hear my words and be disappointed or sad.

"I don't care." Was his words before standing back up and pulling me up as well with him. I could fell the knife inmy back waist band loosen the slightest at the movement.

"She's awake, and she would love to play with you and Sophia." He says, patting my hair down as if to make me seem more awake, before shoving me towards the opening of the tent and a beaming Carl.

"Hi, I'm-"

"I know who you are. Rick son, Carl." I say, pointing a fingers at him before pointing it at myself, " Lana Brooke's ." I say, nodding my head in acknowledgement.

I do t know if this is how you make a friend. Mom was my only one which is fine.

"Okay, go. I have to change." Glenn hushes me out of the tent, Carl takes my hand and sprints in the direction of the tree line.

What the hell?

"Carl, stay with in yelling distance." The lady and Carl mom yells behind us. He sighs and bows his head almost as if he is embarrassed.

"Yeah." Was his response, I look back at his mom as she raises a suspicious eye which makes me ten times more uncomfortable than I already am.

She stands to her full heat and walks towards us, I hear snickering from behind us and turn my head a little to see Sophia and the morales girl looking at Carl and his mom with a knowing look.

Oh.

I turn back around with a new glint in my eyes. I let go of carls sweaty hand and cross my hands over my stomach. I realize now. Carls a mamas  boy. Cute. Weird. Disgusting.

His face turns a light shade of red. This boy is older than me and still scared of his mom, then I also realized that I couldn't judge him and wiped the glint from my eyes and straighten my back.

Am I a mamas girl?

"Why don't you meet up with the others... girl." The women says, looking at me with strange eyes. She doesn't know my name so I didn't take the word to heart.

"Why?" I sass back, more offended by her words than I should be. She looks like mom now that I stare up at her face long enough.

"Because I'm telling you to... girl." She says then. I scoff and turn around, slowly making my way to Sophia and the other girl.

My hands start to feel slippery and my stomach grumbles, but I'm not hungry.

"H-hi." I stutter, why would I stutter. The two girls look down at me with soft eyes and their lips hold a gentle and soft smile. Do they talk?

"Hi, I'm Sophia." I know. Instead I nodded and offered a light smile. So good so far. I turn my head the the other girl.

She had tanned skin, her brown hair was lighter than mine. She , as Sophia, was taller than me. She was also holding a doll to her chest. Okay.

"Hi, I'm Eliza   . You escapes Atlanta with my dad." She says and I hum in realization. Morales. She does look like him from a different angle but I've seen her mom and she took her features more.

"Lana." I say my name, they nod at my words and they start to talk about things that I w never heard of so I just nod and agree with them till Carl comes back with a smile as if he was proud of something.

Interesting.

"Wanna play gold fish?" He ask us, taking cards out of his pocket. I swallow my confusion and nod back at him as the other two girls did, I didn't want to be left out. Wait, what's goldfish?

We all sat in a circle under a big tree and I couldn't help but feel a sense of relaxation and comfort... almost warmth when I had my back to it. Almost as if the tree could feel my anxious thoughts.

"Carl separated the cards individually to us all, I grab mine while bitting my lip in frustration and confusion.

"Do you know how to play the game?" Carl ask me softly, i huff and shake my head in a 'no' , he just smiles down at me and starts to explain it to me.

"Thank you." I mumble, carls not so bad. We play game after game until I get bored of losing every round and decide to just watch them.

"Cheater." Carl spats at Sophia, she gasps and pretends to be hurt.

"Your just mad that I won and you didn't. Your a sore loser." She spats back to him, I couldn't help but  snort at there little fight, so does Eliza.

Immature.

"Come on guys. Don't be so immature in front of Lana."Eliza says to them both and they immediately shut up. Huh? I'm probably more mature then mamas boy and Sophia. But it's okay, let them people what they want just because I'm younger than them all.

"Come on, let's go." Eliza say , I hop down of the bench and walk towards the woods with her, I could hear them all sprinting towards me.

"Yeah the game was getting boring anyways." Carl says as he walks in front of me, Sophia walking beside me and Eliza on the other side of me. I can't help but roll my eyes at my new friend... friend?
