Tanvi:"That was one hell of a ride.."( She exclaimed as everyone walked back up the river side )
Indeed it was a hell of a ride. One of the lost scariest moments in Arohi's life. Did she enjoy? Maybe just 20% that too because of her friends and of course Aditya. The way he helped the relax through the ride and unknowingly held her hand throughout giving her a comfort was what she liked the best about this ride. The other 80% was just horror and fear. Fear of dying, Drowning, or worse hitting her head on some stupid rock.
After the ride, her hair was slightly wet as well as her clothes along with everyone else's. It was also already 5:45 in the evening. Everyone decided that they should held up back to the hotel area and maybe in mid way stop near a housing place they saw while coming here. It looked like a perfect place to get a overview of actual village life.
The gang started moving towards their new destination. Though this time they were walking with the men dragging their bicycles along as they didn't want to offend the villager in any way.
Arohi:"Tanvi see..a temple."
Tanvi:"It looks ancient "( She said as they all look towards a huge temple that looked like it was built in the olden days)
Arohi:"Should we check it out"
Everyone agreed as the girl headed towards the temple while the men followed. They took of their shoes off at the ground before the stairs up to the temple. As they climbed up bare foot, they came across 2 elder looking women who were sitting inside, deeply involved in their devoted meditation to god and A priest was present as well who was busy getting ready for the evening prayer.
As Arohi noted that the women had their saree wrapped over their head as a veil, she stopped Tanvi and Riya from moving forward.
Tanvi:"What happened?"
Arohi:"Tanu... This is a village temple. I think we need to cover our heads"
Riya:"But we don't even have a scarf or anything?
Arohi:"That's the problem"
Tanvi:"Should we head back then?"
Aditya:"No.. It won't feel right coming all the way here and not getting to pray. "
Kabir:"We didn't do it intentionally. It should be fine"
Arohi:"I know but.. we don't know how they will react"
Aditya:"They shouldn't matter Arohi. Yes you should respect elders and traditions but everyone has there own views on it. The best is to respect others view but also respect yours. In your eyes are you doing something wrong? No right, then you should do it confidently."
Vivek:"I agree. Arohi some people believe that even in today's society having a girl child is embarrassment. That they should be killed at birth or taken away. Only a boy can be considered a heir. Do you believe that?( Arohi along with the girls nodded no) " Then would you do the same even if you dont"
Riya:"No way.."
Tanvi:"I would rather die"
Vivek:"See the decision is simple"
Aman:"So shell we proceed?"(Everyone nodded as the gang headed inside.)
They folded their hands in front of god and prayed before bending down to touch the ground as if taking blessing from god itself. All this while their presence was noticed by the 3 people present. The priest came forward will prasad for the young clan while the ladies looked as if they were gossiping looking at the group. Everyone ignored them as they headed down to the where they left their shoes.
