he didn't know why he was so nervous. he knew you were going to say yes. didn't he? of course he did. you had been together for years, and he knew how much you loved him, everyone would always remind him of it. everyone could see it in the way you looked at him, the little acts of affection that you would give him, you were so in love with him.
he had asked for your parents permission not that long ago, the two of them saying yes in a heartbeat, even though he knew that they thought no one was good enough for their daughter, they knew their daughter was the happiest she had ever been, and they loved erling as their own son, so their permission and blessing was granted as soon as he asked them.
when the day came, and he got down on one knee, your eyes teared up and your heart began to race. there was no other answer that was going to exit your mouth other than a big 'yes!' he was the love of your life, and if you got to spend the rest of it with him, you knew that you'd be happy forever.
