he felt your body heavy against his, meaning that you had fallen asleep, your head on his chest. your breathing was even, your hand resting against his chest, feeling the rise and fall of his in your slumber.
erling lay watching you for a while. noticing the way your eyes fluttered slightly as you dreamed, and how you looked so adorable in your most peaceful state.
he tucked some of your hair behind your ear. "i love you so much," he whispered. "i know you can't hear me right now, but that doesn't make anything i'm about to say less true. i can't wait for our future together. i can't wait to marry you, can't wait to raise a family with you. you're such an incredible person, and i'm so glad i have you in my life, supporting me through everything i do, i couldn't ask for anyone better."
and with that, he pressed a soft kiss to the top of your head before falling into his own deep slumber.
