✧ Aftermath interrogation ✧

The boys of NCT were terrible at keeping secrets, for the first thing Yuta did when Johnny blurted out the name of Chaehyun's not so secret partner, was run off phone in hand. No one knew where he had gone but they quickly received their answers when none other than George Lee burst into the dorm, Charlie Bae dragging a very sleepy Moon Chaeri along with him.

Yuta had tattled on him to his other friends.

"You're dating Wonho without me?!" George cried in betrayal, earning several odd looks. Causing the Superstar to clear his throat. "I meant to say without telling me but it came out wrong—" Charlie patted his shoulder sympathetically, and lucky for him, the boys decided to move the conversation along.

"I didn't even know you knew them!" Chaehyun focused his statement to Yuta. "Since when did you have their numbers?"

"Charlie and I are friends, I asked him if he knew about this but he didn't reply. Turns out he was gathering your crew," Yuta explained guiltily.

Everyone turned to Charlie, who shrugged. "I was owed money if it turned out Chaehyun had a new fancy man. I couldn't miss this."

With a grumble, George pulled out his wallet and slammed money into Charlie's hand. Chaeri muttered a promise to pay him when she wasn't in her pyjamas, or half asleep for that matter to which Charlie was more than happy to allow. She settled against his arm, eyes fluttering closed allowing the taller boy to practically hold her up.

"I may have dragged her out of bed," George explained guiltily.

Charlie, who looked less guilty, grinned. "I had her arms, he grabbed her ankles."

"So you kidnapped her?" Mark asked slowly, looking around in alarm as the two boys nodded back at him. Chaeri didn't seem bothered though, slipping back into a half slumber against Charlie's arm. "Are you two?..."

George let out a loud 'HA' at the insinuation between his two best friends. "Them two? Dating? Never... wait you're not right? Because if you are then that will be very awkward for me because of you know... a certain relationship i have with someone that one of you two also have a—"

"We get it George. We aren't dating," Charlie cut off his ramble. "I love Chaeri, but not my type — she's a sister to me. A bro. A dudette. I see her more as a mother really—"

"Can we get back to me?" Chaehyun asked, raising an eyebrow. "My relationship just got revealed thanks to Johnny's big mouth so I'd at least like to have all the attention."

"Attention whore," Jaehyun joked, prodding his member's foot with his own. "Go on, fill us in on your little love story. We're all dying to hear it."

Much to the shock of everyone, Kim Chaehyun actually blushed. Every ounce of confidence had vanished from his body and was replaced with a shyness that they hadn't seen in him in a very long time.

Lucas, who had retreated into the corner after the confession outburst, cleared his throat and rose to his feet capturing the attention of everyone in the room—and for the first time, the three new arrivals finally noticed him. George instinctively stepped in front of Chaehyun.

"What's he doing here?"

Lucas held his hands up. "I'm just leaving." George only narrowed his eyes, watching as the boy that shattered his best friend's heart glanced at Chaehyun with a smile. "If things go wrong, you have my number."

And just like that, he slithered out the door. Charlie held Chaeri's leg down to stop her from tripping him up.

Once he had left, everyone seemed to relax.

"I met Wonho at the gym—"

Suddenly, Jungwoo's gasp rippled through the room.

"That day when we went to lunch and you turned your phone face down, was you getting texts off of him?! Right in front of me on our date?!"

"It wasn't a date—"

"We kissed." Jungwoo knew that had nothing to do with anything, but being dramatic was fun, he had learned. No wonder Chaehyun was so dramatic, it was ever so amusing.

"That was once years ago, Kim Jungwoo! And it was a total accident! And for your information, no I have his instagram notifications on!" Chaehyun burst out causing everyone to eye him weirdly.

"You probably should have lied and said it was a text because now you just look like a stalker," Doyoung told him bluntly, earning a nod in agreement from Charlie.

"Total stalker."

Chaehyun glared at his two friends, who now stood side by side with their arms folded and matching judgemental stares. Suddenly, Chaehyun hated this crossover.

"Johnny i'm going to murder you!"

Johnny threw his hands up. "I haven't said anything!"

"You're the reason why my secret is no longer a secret! I knew I shouldn't have told you. Now I have to deal with these two-" Chaehyun gestured to Charlie and Doyoung. "Mark's convinced i betrayed him!" Gesturing to Mark who was scowling in the corner extremely upset over the fact that he wasn't the first one to be told. "And everything is a mess!"

"Okay-" Taeyong finally butted in. "Can we all just take a collective deep breath?"

The room did as told. George gaped in awe, Namjoon had tried that once but it didn't work because Jungkook ended up slapping Jimin in the stomach... long story.

"Chae why did you wanna keep this a secret from us so bad?" The leader asked after calming the room.

Chaehyun fiddled with his fingers, shyly. "I went through a pretty public break up in front of you all. I just wanted to be sure that me and Wonho were serious—didn't wanna be humiliated. But then some of you began to get suspicious and I confessed to Johnny... it just all spiralled very quickly."

It was understandable, no one could blame him for wanting to keep it under wraps. Every relationship Chaehyun had been in was public to his members, it wasn't a surprise he wanted to keep this one to himself for a little while. Taeyong could've cried. It was a true sign of maturity—His little Chaehyun was all grown up.

"Wonho's hot, I'm proud of you," George broke the sudden silence, clapping his best friend on the back.

"And your secret is safe with us," Taeil assured him, though he did send a worried glance towards Haechan. "Hopefully."

The youngest looked offended. "I'm not that bad at keeping secrets!"

No one in the room agreed.

As sad as Chaehyun was that his secret had been revealed, the weight on his chest seemed to lift significantly. He hated not gossiping.

"It's late, I suppose we should get this one home," George gestured to Chaeri, who was on the brink of passing out, his right arm reached out to steady her against him. The Superstar then shot an accusing finger at his best friend. "You better have all of the details lined up. I want to know everything."

"I already have a draft of everything written out from first meeting to our last date."

George beamed proudly. "That's my man."

"Actually, I think you'll find he's Wonho's man," Yuta corrected, prompting Chaehyun to hide shyly behind his hands.

None of the boys had ever seen him like this before.

Kim Chaehyun was absolutely smitten.
