❛ 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐞𝐡𝐲𝐮𝐧. 𝗇𝖼𝗍 𝖺𝖽𝖽𝖾𝖽 𝗆𝖾𝗆𝖻𝖾𝗋

♤ Hanra ♤

Chaehyun had never been more thankful for his busy schedule. He had been stacked up with work upon work due to the 127 schedules as well as preparing for the Super M debut. As sad as he was that he hadn't had any time to even spare a glance at his grandparents, he was incredibly grateful for the fact that it had stopped him from having to face Hanra.

Finally, he had an hour to spare and decided he would use that time to visit his grandparents. He assumed Hanra was in school, so he didn't really feel any worry about running into her. That's until he opened the door just to find her laying on the sofa wrapped up in a blanket. He swallowed harshly and and dropped his keys on the side, he didn't give her another glance as he walked past and entered the kitchen where he found his grandmother singing along to Fireflies.

She had always been an NCT Dream stan and Chaehyun couldn't blame her. He leaned against the doorway, crossing one foot over the other as he folded his arms. His lips curled up into a smile whilst his eyebrows furrowed. He watched in amusement as she danced with the cake tin in her hand. When she turned around, she let out a scream and dropped the tin. Her hand flew up to her chest as Chaehyun fell back laughing.

"Don't do that again!" She slapped him on the chest repeatedly when he stepped forward to hug her. She pushed him away and lifted the tin off the floor. "I'll get you back. You better watch your back, Chaehyun. Gran is coming for you."

"Oh, I'm so scared what's a 229 year old-"

"Aye! Get out of my kitchen before I slap you with my frying pan. Don't test me." She shoved him out of the kitchen, Chaehyun was still laughing at her reaction and trudged towards his favourite chair.

He loved the playful banter with his gran, his grandparents were fun to be around. Chaehyun found himself cherishing every moment spent with them, every laugh shared and every smile exchanged. He appreciated them for who they are and everything they had done. Chaehyun and his grandmother often had playful arguments like that, he loved them.

He didn't acknowledge Hanra's presence, which came as a shock. Chaehyun had always been wrapped around her little finger, he couldn't be mad at her 30 seconds without feeling guilty. This was the longest he hadn't spoken to her and she didn't like it. She knew she'd fucked up, she knew she was thin ice and extremely close to losing the main person who had loved and protected her from day one.

"Chae...are you gonna talk to me?" Her voice was hoarse due to her sore throat. She'd come down with the flu a day prior, any other time Chaehyun would've been fussing over her, but he was acting like she didn't exist.

When he didn't respond, she sighed and laid back again.

"I miss you-"

"Hanra just stop talking," he cut in abruptly. She nodded and looked at her blanket. "You're gonna make your throat worse."

Her heart jumped. At least he still cared.

"I don't forgive you. You're too naïve, you really think he cares? No. He cares about no one but him and the sooner you get that in your skull the better."

Chaehyun had never been so harsh with her before, it felt wrong but he knew he couldn't just let her off the hook. She had backstabbed him, how could he forgive her so easily after that?

The tension was cut by their grandfather entering the room, he was covered from head to toe in dirt and looked quite confused. Chaehyun looked up at him with raised eyebrows.

"Hey granddad..."

"Oh hey Chae." He nodded casually towards his grandson as if he wasn't completely covered in dirt.

Chaehyun turned back towards the tv, ignoring the situation was much easier, he came from a weird family. He'd learned by now to just block out his grandfather's odd hobbies. A gasp sounded from the doorway.

"Get out! You're getting my clean carpets all dirty!" Chaehyun's gran rushed into the room, eager to to push her husband out, he looked around lost. "Stop gawking and go clean! Chaehyun, tell him to get out."

"Granddad, why don't you come watch-"

"Chaehyun be quiet!"

Chaehyun nodded his head with a smile. His grandmother finally pushed her husband out of the room and let out a breath. As she passed her grandson, she made sure to clip him around the ear, which earned a whine.

"What did you do that for?"

"You almost provoked him into sitting on my clean sofas! They're creme! Dirt and creme isn't a match Chaehyun!"

"What's he even doing out there anyway?" Chaehyun rubbed his ear as his grandmother sat down at the bottom of Hanra's soda.

She sighed. "Your grandfather is clumsy. He's gotten into gardening and keeps falling into the flower beds and then falling asleep in there. Please don't ask me how, it's your grandfather, love. That man has been odd since the day he was born."

"And you still married him."

"How could I refuse when we were stuck in a supply closet together? He broke the handle, thinking back in starting to think he broke that handle so I couldn't leave and would have no choice but to say yes to his proposal."

Chaehyun giggled. "Sounds like something granddad would do."

"Have you two sorted out your problems yet?" Gran asked her grandchildren hopefully, only to be met with an awkward silence. She sighed. "How long is this going to go on? Come on, you're siblings. Chaehyun, you practically raised her. Are you really going to give up all of that love because she made a careless mistake. Yes, I agree it was completely disgusting and wrong, but-"

"She has to prove herself. I'm not forgiving her for the sake of it, she can't be let off easy constantly. She's not a child anymore. When she proves who's side she's on. Proves her loyalty then I'll think about it."

Oh yeah, Hanra had really messed up because at this point, even their own grandmother wasn't sure how to bring them back together.
