"I didn't expect you to call..."

"Yeah...neither did i but i figured it was best to just get it over and done with," Chaehyun kept his voice steady and firm.

Hanra couldn't read his eyes but she didn't have to because she already knew he was feeling tense about talking to her alone, even if it was through a computer screen. Seeing his name pop up on her phone indicating that he wanted to FaceTime was the last thing she expected to happen, but there was a sense of relief there too.

She shyly tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and cleared her throat as if it would help rid the tension. Chaehyun had never liked awkwardness, it was uncomfortable and when it's with your own little sister, it's a thousand times worse.

"I'm gonna be honest with you, Hanra, it's going to take me a long while to even think about forgiving you but you're still my little sister and you still need me, so I am willing to still be in contact with you but I will not ever forgive you for doing what you did, it was sickening and beyond traitorous."

Hanra nodded, she didn't expect him to forgive her. She had grown as a person, the girl she was back then was a broken, conniving little girl who was angry at the world for everything that had happened in her childhood. She took it all out on her brother, the one person who had been there for her through thick and thin and helped the people that had caused her life to be a living hell.

She would never forgive herself.

"I don't want forgiveness because truthfully, it's the last thing I deserve. I was wrong, my actions were vile and nobody should have ever been put through what you went through. Chae, I am so sorry for everything that happened but I can promise you I am not that same girl."

He believed her, she had been making progress in her therapy sessions even got a better group of friends and began taking steps to help out people who had horrible childhoods. She wanted to better herself and he knew that just because he was mad at her doesn't mean he hasn't kept up to date with her. He still cares, he will never stop but forgiveness is not on the table.

"I like your hair," he pointed out.

Hanra fiddled with the two front pieces of her hair which had been dyed red. She laughed quietly and twirled the ends in her hands.

"I spend a lot of time on tiktok, thought it looked cool so i did the same. I like yours too, by the way, I'm not used to seeing you with bright colours," she told him, eyeing his blue hair.

Chaehyun nodded. "I kinda like this colour so I decided to keep it for a while, plus Lucas said he'd cry if I dyed it so gotta keep it for a little longer."

Hanra smiled softly, she hadn't seen Chaehyun this happy in a long time. Deep down, she had always known that Lucas held more meaning to Chaehyun than he first thought. Lucas is Chaehyun's soulmate and she is beyond thankful that he was there to hold him when she wasn't.

Believe it or not, she loves Chaehyun more than life itself. That's her big brother and despite hurting him in the past, she would take a bullet for him. His happiness means more to her than anything and to see his eyes twinkle as he talks about his boyfriend, that's all she could ever ask for.

"By the way, is Daeyoon still talking about marriage?"

Hanra shrugged her shoulders. "I'm not so sure anymore, they broke up two days ago and Daeyoon hasn't mentioned him since or even why they broke up. He's been sleeping in your bed though."

Chaehyun frowned, he hadn't heard anything about a breakup. Hanra noticed the confused look and smiled. "Don't worry, we haven't forgotten about you, Daeyoon begged us not to tell you. He didn't wanna worry you."

"Why has he been sleeping in my bed?"

"He used to sleep next to you when he was sad or hurt, I guess he never grew out of it..." She explained. "I offered him to sleep with me but he said I kick a lot."

Chaehyun nodded. "You do, you also get clingy. I once woke up to you completely sprawled out across my body."

Hanra blushed, she had always been a restless sleeper.

"I need to talk to him about it at least, if he's sleeping in my bed then that means he needs me and I wanna be there for him."

Hanra nodded. "Nana was planning on telling you anyway."

"I bet she's ecstatic that she got her way," Chaehyun joked.

"She's hurting for him, though I did hear her mutter an 'i told you so' on the way past once, so she's secretly basking in it."

Typical Gran. Chaehyun grinned at the thought of her being so loving and comforting to his face but then silently dancing of happiness when she closes the door.

"I better go, he's crying again but um...thank you for talking to me, I appreciate it..."

Chaehyun gave a small smile. "I'll be in touch."

With that, the phone call ended and Chaehyun sent a casual 'can we talk soon' text to his brother. He tossed his phone to the side and let out a sigh as the weight on his shoulders had been lifted.

It wasn't forgiveness, but it was enough.
