"You can do this. You got this. It's just Mac." You whispered under your breath to yourself as you approached the front door of the Bozer's home. After a very stressful Christmas with your mom and then dad you were hoping to just go soak in a nice bubble bath at home and go to bed early. Then you remembered you had agreed to something as crazy as sitting down in the same room as your ex.

When you talked yourself into finally knocking on the door, it was only a matter of seconds before it was being flung open as Boze launched himself at you "Y/n!" He shouted in excitement while hugging onto you tightly.

You couldn't help but laugh, not being to hug back since Boze had both your arms pinned between your body and his "It's good to see you too Boze."

"Wilt Bozer you let that poor girl go before you cut off her air supply." You heard Mrs. Bozer say in the background.

When he finally did let go, you both walked into the house, Boze closing the door while you made your way into the living room to find both of his parent's standing there ready to greet you. "Hi Mr. & Mrs. Bozer." You smiled, as they both pulled you in for a group hug.

"Oh Y/n dear it is so good to see you." Lauretta said while giving you her signature warm smile.

Then Milton pulled back to take a look at you "Look at the beautiful woman you blossomed into. You just more beautiful with each year that passes."

You stood there, blushing at his kind words, wishing your own father could be like that.

"I couldn't agree more." A voice from behind broke your thoughts, as you turned around now seeing Mac standing in front of you.

"Hi Mac." You greeted, already feeling nervous but tried your best to give him a smile.

"Hi Y/n." Mac smiled at you, raking his eyes up and down your body which made you even more self conscious.

"Well this won't be awkward at all." Bozer said under his breath sarcastically.

Lauretta heard though and was quick to shush him before placing a hand on your shoulder "Now dear, I know you had to divide the morning and noon up between your parents but have you eaten? Dinner will be ready in about an hour?"

In the morning you had a light brunch with your mother, but you mostly just threw back a few mimosas more than actually eating any of the food. Then with your father all he cared about was the game that was on, with some chips and pretzels out to snack on. "I'm starving." You confessed with a smile.

Milton clapped his hands together before speaking up "Great! We've got plenty of food, my wife goes all out." He smiled, kissing her cheek which just made you smile seeing the love that they share.

"Sounds great." You said, nodding your head.

While everyone took a seat to catch up with how your life has been, you couldn't help but notice how intently Mac was looking at you.

After awhile of talking Milton asked what you do for a living "I am a computer engineer for a company out in LA."

Bozer and Mac exchanged a look of shock "No way! You live in LA? So do we! This means we can stay in touch when we go back home." Bozer grinned, then he noticed how uneasy you and Mac looked.

Mac had promised the same thing when he left for the Army.

Bozer frowned as he picked up on the tension "All of us will. I promise."

You just forced a smile while nodding along, already not getting your hopes up.
