". . . But I bet this is what it's like, holdin' your baby for the first time, except it turns out, my baby can kill people by spittin' bullets at 'em!" Negan yelled, holding a shotgun by the border.

Rachel had gone there with him and Carol, after she showed up and wanted to put the head on a spike. Negan left to get Lydia, and then Carol left Rachel, who couldn't walk, to go and sulk or something.

It pissed her off.

But then, Beta showed up, and Rachel climbed up into a tree, watching for when he took the head and left. It was three hours later when Negan and Daryl showed up.

Rachel had been getting herself sat on the tree properly so that she could shoot, considering three Whisperers showed up and tied Daryl up, saying Negan was the new Alpha. She knew Negan wasn't going to just turn to their side. Or hoped he wasn't. And was waiting for an opening.

But it was starting to rain, and thunder rumbled close by. She'd have to get out of this damn tree soon.

"Daryl," Negan smiled excitedly. "Kneel to the Alpha."

The Whisperers holding him tried to push him down, but he shook them off and kneeled himself, making Negan laugh.

There were three whisperers, one tied up Daryl, and Negan and Rachel. Best bet, Rachel can take out two of them.

That's when an idea formed in her mind.

She reached into her backpack, finding a little thing that reminded her of the rubbers from school that Danny had given her. For crowd control. Here's to hoping it wouldn't send gas off into the air and murder Negan and Daryl.

"You know, you were right." Negan was saying, as Rachel attatched the rubber to her arrow. "When you said I liked it. You have no idea."

She knocked the arrow and pulled back. Two Whisperers were together, another off to the side. She'd try to get them.

"You should probably shoot me." Daryl said.

Negan grinned. "Don't threaten me with a good time."

He raised his shotgun, and hit the whisperer on his own.

Rachel pulled the arrow back, and fired at the head of one of the whisperers, knocking an arrow before the first found it's target.

But there was no need. A large bang sounded, and Rachel ducked as red liquid shot high into the sky, followed by large, wet red chunks that landed on the tree as well at the ground.

When the smoke cleared, she could see the whisperer she hit - well, their legs, and the other one with blood pouring from the chunk missing from their face.

Daryl was on the ground, but getting to his feet, Negan doing the same.

"Ho-ly shit!" Negan looked up at her, grinning. "That was sick! You've got some balls, Miss Rachel!"

"Untie me, asshole." Daryl held up his tied hands, and Negan laughed, doing as he said.

Rachel climbed down the tree, and avoided them, standing far from the pair. "Carol was here, then she left. Said she'd be back. Big boy took the head, Grace was with him. He knows Negan killed Alpha, but seems fine with her, she's . . . safe."

"We'll wait." Daryl said.

And they did. The entire night. But Carol never showed. Which was fine, honestly. But Rachel thought it was foul that Carol believed Rachel to be alone with a wounded foot, waiting for her, and just didn't bother to show.
