WHILE BTS TOURED IN CALIFORNIA AND TEXAS for two weeks, I caught a flight for Toronto with Zara. And arriving in my hometown after a few months made me realize all the things that I had been missing. Family, friends, Tim Hortons... normality.
But I wouldn't trade this life I had with Jungkook and the boys for anything else in the world.
Getting off the Uber, I couldn't help but glance over to the house just across the street. Anna-Mae had yet to get in touch with me to apologize. So until then, I was done making the first move or being the bigger person.
If that made me petty and immature, then so be it.
"AY, LEMME SEE THAT TUMMY!!" Bethanee gushed from the porch of my childhood house, reaching out to caress my baby bump. "So, how's my little niece doing?"
"She's great! You know who else is? Me. The mother carrying said little niece. Really, thanks so much for asking," I retorted sarcastically and walked past her, heading inside with my luggage.
"Please! I could already tell you're just fine from a mile away. That pregnancy has your melanin glowing~" she cried out with a sweet smile and dragged me into the living room, once I stepped out of my shoes.
"Aww, thank you, Betsy!" I beamed in happiness and then searched in my Balenciaga bag for the little ultrasound pictures. "Our princess's healthy and growing so well!"
"Look at this little bean!" she exclaimed, carefully holding the photographs with different hues of black and white.
"Bruh, she's like the size of a sweet potato now!" I retorted in amusement while kicking my slightly swollen feet on her lap. "Also, she hiccups from time to time, like when practicing how to breathe. And there's amniotic fluid getting in her lungs, which is normal, by the way... Anyways, it's really cute~"
"I'm so excited for you two!" Bethany grinned and hugged me as tightly as possible with a baby bump in the way. "Who would've thought you'd be the first to settle down."
"Well, you were always the boy-crazy one. Everybody wanted you, but they could never hold your attention for more than two weeks!" I laughed at the memory of our late-night talks about her teenage crushes all those years ago. "And still can't."
"Jin still holds my attention. Why are you acting I haven't been texting him everyday since the cookout."
"The cookout? In May?? Maybe because— um, lemme think... I. Didn't. Know. What the fuck, Betsy?!"
