hi guys, welcome back 😫😫😫😫😫 it's technically not the 11th where i am but i'm gonna upload it now anyway cuz i think i'm about to fall asleep

y/n's pov

occasionally i would turn around to make sure the prophet outside mattia's restaurant wasn't following me. i just hope they still think mattia's dead so they won't go after him.

i opened the door back to the house my friends and i were renting and slammed it shut while breathing heavily.

"oh good you're back," kairi smiled. "are you okay?"

i shake my head and start crying even more. "t-this is all wrong, this is so fucked up. this is the worst thing that can possibly happen."

"woah woah, slow down," he ran to my side. "what happened? what's wrong?"

"yo is everything good?" alejandro entered the room. "y/n what's wrong?"

"he's here," i say. "he's alive and he's here."

"what? who?" he asked.

"mattia's alive," i repeat. "he's alive." i managed to smile a little bit. alejandro and kairi's face lit up.

"wait what? how?"

"i don't know," i shake my head. "but all i know is that he's here."

"so-so then why are you so upset? let's go get him." kairi placed his hand on the doorknob but i stopped him.

"no we can't," i oppose. "there's something.. complicated in the way."

"whatever it is, we'll get through it," alejandro replied. "let's go."

"he lost his memory," i blurt out. "he looked at me.. and there was nothing there. he just looked right past me."

"what.." kairi whispered.

alejandro stared at me for a little bit. "n-no, i don't care. we'll kidnap him like how we kidnapped you two years ago. i don't give a fuck."

"alejandro," i shout. "i think the prophets are here. if they find out mattia's alive.. they'll call vincent (their capo)."

"and since mattia doesn't remember anything, it'll be an easy kill," kairi nodded, understanding my point of view.

"he's happy," i saw lowly. "he's engaged and he owns an italian restaurant."

"engaged?" alejandro raised his voice. "i'm.. sorry."

"he really owns an italian restaurant," kairi chuckles, his eyes glistening with tears. "i.. wanna see him."

"yeah me too," alejandro agreed.

"i know you guys do but you'll have to wait until tomorrow," i tell them. "if the prophet is still out there he's gonna be wondering why we're all going to that restaurant. eventually he'll put two and two together."

"yeah you're right," he mumbled. "tomorrow it is."

we filled in the rest of our friends on what happened, everyone was in shock. i still am too. there was nothing i wanted more than to be with him right now.

knock knock

my bedroom door slowly creaked open as alejandro walked in.

"hey," he said shyly, taking a seat on my bed next to me. "i just wanted to check up on you."

"i'm just glad he's alive," i smile. "this changes a lot of things."

"i know. it does," he licked his lips and looked at me. "did he really not know who you were?"

i nod. "yeah. he asked me what my name was, riley's too. he kept staring at my locket though. maybe the symbol caught his attention? i don't know."

"i'm scared," he said. "i don't want my best friend to look at me like he doesn't know me. i don't want him to ask me what my name is."

"it hurt," i told him. "but he's alive right? that's all that matters."

"he's living a fake life."

"it's not fake to him," i oppose.

"he's engaged to another woman-- how can you be okay with that?"

"i'm not okay with it alejandro," i yell. "he's happy. he's living a normal life. a life without killing and violence."

"this isn't him," he shakes his head. "he belongs with us."

"he probably doesn't even remember his last name," i sigh. "maybe after we deal with the prophets, we can do something but i don't know."

"i'll see what happens when me and kairi go over tomorrow," he says. "are you gonna go back?"

"i want to," i answer. "but just seeing him look at me like i don't mean anything to him... i just don't want him to look at me like that again."

"the littlest things can jog his memory. if i were you, i would just stop by occasionally."

"we should extend our stay here," i suggest. "i'm not ready to leave."

alejandro nods and walks towards my door. "goodnight."

"goodnight."
