Scarlett's pov

There were only roses, petals of roses in the tray.

And due to fall, they all scattered around.

I was confused. There aren't any rings there laying around.

Were...were there not any rings?

What? What's happening?

"No rings!" Molly exclaimed.
She looked pleasantly happy at this.

"Ohh, no rings means no engagement, right?" She didn't even try to hide the fact how pleasant she is right now.

I wanted to punch her face.

"No,Molly. What are you saying?" Shelly also fake gasped.

These stupid mom- daughter!

Ughhhh!!

My chest was rising up and down in anger. I took a deep breath to calm myself down.

Xander on sensing my condition, squeezed my hand softly as if to assure me nothing is going to happen.

I looked at him.

I was confused at myself. Why was I feeling such emotions?

I don't have any attachment to this wedding, no emotional attachment, then why ? Why was I feeling all such emotions?

It's all making my head ache. I closed my eyes and inhaled deeply, then exhaled.

"Keep shut both of you." Maria spoke these words to both mother and daughter.

I looked at her.

"There were no rings on that tray. Only rose petals to give our sweet couple a rose petal shower but you.... I mean it fell on the floor now." She explained looking at Molly.

I was sure she knew Molly intentionally tripped the maid.

"Then where are the rings?" Xander was the one who asked this.

His face showed he was mad too on whatever was happening right now.

"Badima, where are the rings?" He softly asked.

"I sent Ryan to go get them. Don't worry." She smiled at him.

He visibly relaxed and nodded his head at her.

"Who...who is Ryan?" I asked.

Maria smiled at my question.
"His best friend."

"Ohh, wow!" I smiled too on learning this.

And the same moment, a deep voice echoed in the room.

"Were you all talking about me? The best and awesome Ryan?"
A tall guy with light brown hair entered the hall with a bright, cheerful smile on his face.

He seemed like a sweet and nice guy.

"But still one question is left unanswered." Maria spoke gravely.

"What?" Saying this, I got up to see the rings that Ryan bought.

I was excited to see them.

Ahh..my rings! I'm so eager to see how they must be looking? Are they cute? Elegant or plain?

If Maria chose them, they must be beautiful but if Xander chose them, well...
What can I say?

"Scarlett no, stay there. Don't..." Maria said this the same moment I felt a piercing pain in both of my foot.
