Renjun wasn't entirely sure how to dress for a date-that-wasn't-really-a-date. Chenle had assured him that he had no 'bad intentions' and whatever else the older Chinese had been wary of, but it was still nerve-wracking. Could this be the younger attempting to make an effort in becoming friends? Was this a genuine desire that they could live together peacefully?

Renjun undoubtedly hoped so.

Wearing a white t-shirt thats sleeves sailed over his shoulders softly, any breeze being able to shift them, and black shorts to tuck it into, he felt he had made a decent effort to look alright. His hair was still growing out a bit, but there was nothing he could do about that until he went to a hairdresser. He had sneakers on his feet since sandals were too uncomfortable.

"Jesus, what am I worrying about? He's just a person I live with..." he reaffirmed in the mirror, putting on a strong face and trying to smile. After all, Chenle dressed like a girl, and Renjun was very much gay with no exceptions. This would be easy.

Yet the longer he stared at his reflection, the more uneasy he felt. His slender fingers trailed up to tuck some of his hair away, and that smile of his faltered as he did so. Why couldn't he see his own charms? What was it inside him that demanded he wasn't good enough?

A knock to the door sent him out of those concerns though, and he turned to walk out of the bedroom and towards the entrance. "Yeah?" He hummed before yanking it open and finding Mark. "O-Oh..."

"Hey," the older murmured, reaching out and fixing Renjun's parting without second thought, "I'm heading off to the set I'll be working on. I should be away for a month or so, just in case you will wonder where I disappeared to."

"Then..." the younger frowned, "Won't the others be bothered? They seem unhealthily attached to you."

"Mhm, I'm getting the silent treatment from Hyuck again," he chuckled fondly, "But that happens every time I have to go."

The shorter leaned against the doorframe and couldn't help but feel a bit sad. He hadn't gotten to know Mark very well yet, and now that he was leaving, he'd wouldn't have the chance for a while.

"Okay, I do have one favour to ask of you," the older leaned in a bit to keep confidentiality. "Can you do it for me?"

"What is it?"

"Look after these guys, alright? I know they seem a bit scary, or a bit pushy....but they're all giant kids at heart. I worry every single time I go....especially Donghyuck, Jisung and Chenle. They struggle a lot everyday, and Jaemin usually has to put up with a lot on his own since Jeno's away often as well."

"But-"

"Please? Just make sure they don't get themselves killed?"

Renjun sighed and nodded softly, receiving the taller's warm hand against his cheek for a moment before he winked and stepped away to begin his exit. "By the way," he concluded before taking off. "You look lovely."

Shit, I wasn't ready for a sneak attack, the Chinese adult internally screamed. He prayed to any god that would listen that he didn't blush then and there. "Thank you....Oh, and good luck!"

"Take care."

And that was that. The actor disappeared as he descended the staircase beyond and left Renjun holding onto the doorframe for balance. He felt his knees go weak when those kind words had been shared....one of his favourite actors had called him pretty. It was a pity the guy had such a demanding schedule, because he seemed nice other than his tendency to tease.

Before he could retreat to his bedroom again and talk himself out of doing this, the young male quickly exited his apartment and paused when he went to lock it. Eh, whats the point? Leaving it be saved time in the long run for when he wanted to get back in. With that, he too went downstairs to wait on his own and clear his head of any nervousness. Taeyong was nowhere to be seen, which was explained by a sticky note on the communal fridge that mentioned he'd gone to the shops to stock up.

"Nice..." the blonde hummed, shuffling towards the end of the stairs again away from the kitchen to pace around a bit. His feet were warm in his shoes, but that was just a sad fact of life when living under the summer sun.

The sound of footsteps that didn't match his own clambering from above had Renjun halting in place and freezing. He tugged at his lower lip with his teeth before slowly looking upwards towards the person jogging down the steps and stopping at the halfway point. Chenle?

"Y-You're already here..." the taller stammered, almost appearing to be questioning his life choices as the other's eyes raked over his unusual appearance. "I'm sorry if I kept you waiting."

"Hmmm," Renjun hummed, still mesmerised altogether by what he was seeing. The black, three-quarter length shorts, the yellow shirt tucked in at one side, and the short purple hair that was a frizzy mess in the best way. The older realised he was gawking when Chenle went red and waved him off desperately.

"You're staring!"

"Huh?! Ah, oh God, I'm sorry! I was just...you're all....um...."

The younger awkwardly trailed down the rest of the way and joined his neighbour at the foot of the stairs. "Jaemin said you were into guys....so I just...."

"He did? I mean, he's not wrong, but you didn't have to-"

"It's okay," the purplette tried to smile through his blush, "I don't mind. I want you to meet the real me, anyway. Without my skirts or my long hair...just me. I'm normal, which shocked some people. I don't have some ugly face to hide or anything."

"Actually, you're really pretty like this too," Renjun accidentally spouted without thinking it through. He gasped at his own boldness, covering his mouth and being reduced to fuchsia pink cheeks as well. "Oh my God, I'm literally all over the place..."

"It's cute."

"No, I'm making you feel uncomfortable..."

Chenle tutted it off and took the older by the hand, looking away so he couldn't see his expression whilst guiding him to the door. Their warm skin wasn't unpleasant where it connected....rather nice on the contrary. The blonde couldn't stop staring at the back of the taller's head as he was pulled gently, the tufts of purple that had been hidden all along.

"You kids better be sensible!" An all too familiar voice cackled from the staircase. The pair both whined simultaneously and glanced over their shoulders towards the culprit once they'd reached the door. Jeno and Jaemin were giggling like teenagers and waving.

"This is why we can't take them places," Chenle sighed, proceeding to leave the complex and into the sun with his partner for the day.
