"Hey Sapphs." I said while looking up at Varian. He was sitting at his desk writing something on a scroll. I was laying on the floor and staring up at the ceiling. "Yes milady?" "What if Rapunzel just touches the rocks and then they stop growing like crazy? Like if they're only a growing so fast because it go a sense of something from her and wants to keep it?" I asked staring up into one of the many support beams in the lab. "Or it could get worse and swallow the entire world in a spiky darkness." Varian said still writing. I sighed and sat up turning to face him.

"Wanna make a bet?" I asked smirking lightly. "No last time we made a bet you only made it because you knew you'd win!" He said turning his head to give me a fake glare. I giggled and laid back down on the floor. "Hey Sapphs?" "Yes?" "Do you think maybe we can make a truth potion with the mood one?" I asked and I heard his pencil stop moving. "That's...that's actually not a bad idea milady!" I turned my head to face him to see him smiling down at me. "You act like I never have good ideas! What the heck?!" I said sticking my tongue out at him. "I'm not saying they're not good. I'm just saying that they're not plausible. Like your maybe if Rapunzel touches the rocks everything will be fine scenario." He said with a smug smirk on his face as he turned back to the paper.

I rolled my eyes and picked up a cookie from my basket. I stared at the back of his head. I closed one of my eyes and aimed. Orange covered my thumb and middle finger and I flicked them sending the cookie right into the back of his head. "Hey! No throwing food in the lab!" He said trying to sound authoritative, but even he couldn't keep his laugh at bay. I sat up so that I was facing where he sat at the desk.

"What are you writing?" I asked tilting my head to the side. I watched as he used his arm to cover part of the paper and continue writing. "Nothing important." I rolled my eyes and stood up. "If it's not important then why are you covering it?" I said crossing my arms. He just shrugged his shoulders and covered the parchment more. I rolled my eyes and drew a small circle with my finger creating a small portal. I stuck my hand through and pulled it out. In my hand was the paper he was working on.

Varian immediately shot up and tried to get the paper from me. "Cmon (y/n) give it back!" He said reaching for it only to have me back away and start running around the lab with it. I unrolled the parchment and kept as far away from Varian's grasp as I could.

"Dear Rapunzel...ooh Sapphires has a crush on the princess." I said smirking at him as I felt his glare on me. "Give it back! I'm serious!" He said reaching for me again, but I slid across one of the tables. "I need your help now...more...than ever?" I stopped reading it out loud and still kept it away from Varian. 'I may have discovered the key to the rocks. Find the bronze graphtyc in my lab, but be careful. They are watching and will do anything to stop you.' Just as I was finished reading Varian snatched it from my grasp.

"Varian what's going on? Who's watching, a-and why haven't you told me this so called key to the rocks?" I asked as I watched him roll up the the parchment with a key inside. "I told you I doesn't matter." He said with a dark tone. I watched as he tied the scroll up to a lantern. "This does matter! You're asking the princess for help! And last time I checked you wanted nothing to do with her! There's something going on that you're not telling me!" I walked up to him and put on of my hands on his cheek.

"Sapphs...I know you've been shutting me out...I just want to know what's going on with you." I said as my thumb caressed his cheek. "Corona guards." He said softly refusing to look at me. "What?" "The Who. It's the Corona guards." I tilted my head to the side. "What are Corona guards doing all the way out here?" Varian shrugged. "Varian you know you can talk to me." I said pulling him into a hug. I felt one of his hands go around my waist. We soon pulled away and Varian refused to look me into the eye.

"I'm sorry." He said and I looked at him confused. "Sorry? What are you sorry f-" I was cut off as he blew some sort of dust in my face. I moved away from him and started coughing. "Wh-what is that?!" I tried yelling, but the coughing made it impossible. I felt my limbs start to go numb and my vision started to get blurry. "V-Varian! w-what's hap-pen-ing?" I ask starting to panic and he simply picked me up throwing me over his shoulder.

"I'll explain everything when the time is right. I promise." I started hitting his back, but it did nothing. I tried using my magic, but something was blocking it. "P-put m-me down!" I yelled. "You're making this harder than it already is." I could hear the heartbreak in his voice and tears were streaming down my cheeks. "V-Varian! We c-can ta-talk about th-this!" With that everything went black.
