It's been a little while since Death was me, and since I learned the sleep spell. Varian has been getting worse. His eyes are hardly ever blue, he spends all of his time in his lab, and he keeps sending me out to get him things just to get me out and away from what he's working on. He's either becoming suspicious of me, or he just doesn't want me to know what's going on. I spoke to Death about what little he found out from Varian.
Right now I'm on my way to see Rapunzel with Sunny. Varian sent me away with another list of obscure things that he "needed". While nothing are things I can get in the city, I still want to speak to Rapunzel. I need to tell her about what I know in person. Maybe she'll have a few ideas about what to do as well.
I walked through the city and couldn't help but stare at the decorations that littered the city. 'These decorations look similar to the ones for Rapunzel's birthday.' I thought to myself as I continued walking. I carried a basket that held Sunny at my side and I was wearing a white button up with a brown skirt. Over my head was a large hood.

I walked up to the palace to see any booths holding different games, guards carrying presents inside the castle, and people having a grand time. 'Looks like it is the princess' birthday.' I reached into my basket and pulled out a protection pendant. 'This should do!'
I walked up to the two guards that were in front of the palace entrance. "Hello! I'm a friend of Rapunzel's and I was wondering if you could tell me where she is?" I asked as I pulled the hood off my head and smiled at them. The guard smiled back at me. "I believe she's either inside her room, or somewhere inside the palace." He said as he moved to the side for me to enter. "Thank you!" I said as I walked past him and waved goodbye.
'Wow that was way easier than I thought it would be.' I thought to myself as I wandered the palace. I came across a room filled to the brim with presents. As I looked through al of the piles of presents I saw Rapunzel and Eugene. Eugene was shaking various boxes and I ran up to them. "Rapunzel! Happy birthday!" I said as I got closer to them. "(Y/n)?!" Rapunzel turned around to face me with wide eyes and I hugged her.
I pulled away from the hug almost right after. "Oh! W-wait! I-I brought something for you." I felt all around my basket only to realize Sunny was on top of the necklace. "Kitty...you have to move." I said softly as I set the basket down and picked him up and out of the basket. I pulled the necklace with the protection pendant out and held it out to her. She just stared at me wide eyed.
"I-I know I-it's n-not much, but I-it's really important that you wear this a-at all times if possible." I said as I looked down at the floor as both of them just stared at me wide eyed not saying anything. I looked down at the ground as they continued to say nothing. "I-I know that w-what-" I was suddenly cut off by both of them hugging me tight.
I only giggled and hugged them back. They pulled away and Eugene pushed a piece of hair behind my ear. "Kid you have no idea how worried we've been!" He said and Rapunzel nodded. "Are you okay? What are you doing here?" She continued to ask me multiple questions before I could answer any of them. "I-I'm okay, but I can only stay a little while before I have to get back." I said as I bit my lip softly.
