Battle Of The A's || Akashi Seijuro x Reader

Chapter 1

It has been over a week since the official declaration of the competition between you and Akashi.

You were currently studying your ass off for a quiz about the 'Lights in The Sky' which are also known as stars for your Science quiz tomorrow.

"A light year is equal to 9 trillion kilometres.." You muttered quietly while closing the book repeatedly trying to memorize every single important detail about stars.

You continued to study until you felt your brain explode and you just let your body fall onto the soft (Favorite/Color) colored bed sheets, book in your face as you closed your eyes.

Your feet unknowningly started to follow the beat of the audible ticking sounds that come out from the wall clock, feet dangling from the edge as it moved to and fro.

You couldn't help but sigh as you remembered the start of the first semester, where since then you have resplendent grade but that was the time where you didn't mind being second place.

It would be really fine to you when someone, practically Akashi, would always let you fall from first place to second. It didn't mind you but as the time goes by, you couldn't help feel quite irritated.

There were actually times where in you'd beat him which was in just a rare occassion although that would only happen when he is extremely busy with basketball practice that he had to skip class, though he was excused from the missed curriculums.

Then after Akashi noticing that he was slowly getting beaten, he started to also take his studies more even seriously. You noticed his behaviour  and this was when the long term rivalry had started.

Sitting up on the bed with a groan, you started to pack all of your belongings and placed them neatly inside your brown leathered satchel.

You stood up and stretched as you gave out a tired sigh. You opened the door and went downstairs to eat something but to your great luck, note the sarcasm, there was no food left in the fridge or even from the cabinets.

Huffing in annoyance, you ran to your room and opened your closet to change in more presentable clothes.

You wore a simple white hooded sweatshirt along with a pair of coral pink shorts matched with sneakers.

I mean, it doesn't look that much presentable but it's better than going out wearing nothing but just a plain white t-shirt and purple undergarments, that's for sure.

Once you had folded the clothes and placed them on top of your bed, you grabbed your housekeys and locked the door when you had stepped outside.

You stuffed the keys in your pocket as you started to walk towards to a nearby cafe. You walked quietly as you stared at the setting sky, mixed with vibrant colors of pink,purple, and orange across the sky.

You shook your head with a sigh as you averted your gaze from the sky to the concrete pathway.

After a few blocks, you finally entered the cafe, the scent of coffee,cakes and other edible delicacies they have on the menu surrounded you.

Inhaling the scent with a smile, you walked over to the cashier to see one of your bestfriends, Hanako.

"Oh, (F/N)-chan! Glad you finally get to stop by. Would it be the regular or would you like to try something new?" She greeted you and asked with an energetic and cheery voice.

"I'll take the regular." You state with a smile as she nods and you hand her the money before walking towards a table and pulling out a chair to sit.

You patiently waited for your food to arrive. You busily stared at the beautiful dandelions that were in the middle of the table that you had not notice of a certain someone entering the cafe.

With the sound of the bell ringing, you looked up to see a certain red head and couldn't helo but frown when you felt your blood boil inside your body.

Eye twitching accompanied with a growl, you whipped your head away as you placed the hoodie on your head in hopes of him not noticing you.

You notice him pass by your table and you mentally praised as he did and double praised when your food arrived.

"Eh? What's with the hoodie, (Y/N)-chan?" Hanako asks quite loudly and you shush her up by placing your fingers infront of your lips indicating for her to quiet down and shut up.

"Shh! Be quiet, I'm currently on undercover." You whisper shouted as you glanced at Akashi who was waiting in line.

"My boss said there was an assassin here therefore he sent me out to kill him." You stated with a serious face as you gazed up at Hanako who had a bewildered face but she started laughing really hard when you used the silver fork as a sword, accompanied by quite realistic sword slashing sounds.

"... and he goes by the name, Strawberry Shortcake." You plunge the fork unto the slice of strawberry shortcake and quickly grabbed a piece, placing it in your mouth.

"(F/N) (L/N) has saved the world once again from impending danger!" You shout out but then quickly covered your mouth with both hands when you took notice of the mistake you had done.

You felt your hoodie being pulled down and you turned around to see Akashi was the one who did that.

You flicked your tongue and rolled your eyes, "What do you want?" You asked coldly as you returned back to eating the cake.

"The cafe is packed and the only seat available is with you."

"No, go eat outside. Maybe some hobbos would accompany you when they notice you look lonely."

He gives you an annoyed look as he proceeds to sit down on the chair across from you.

"Excuse you." You stated as you kicked the chair away when he was about to sit down, making him fall to the ground which made you laugh hysterically.

He growls and carries the chair back to the table and sit down across from you giving you death glares as you continues to laugh.

Your laughter died down and he finally took the moment to talk.

"You better be prepared tomorrow, you will be punished for laughing at me." He angrily states and you chuckled in amusement and rolled your eyes as you continued to munch down the cake.

"Oh yeah? I'd like to see you try."

He flicks his tongue and mutters 'annoying'. His order finally comes and he also starts eating.

You then thought about how in other people's point of view you both look like a couple enjoying eachothers company and with that, you accidentally choked on your food.

"Good for you." Akashi says with a smirk as you drank the iced coffee to save your life from choking on a shortcake to death.

After a few minutes, you finally finished the cake and the beverages and stood up to leave.

"Oi, did I already say you were free to go?" You whipped your head back to the red head with bewilderement written on your face.

"Do I look like I care? Tch." You flicked your tongue and walked out of the cafe and went back straight to home.

After unlocking the door, you went straight to your room to change and to continue on studying.

After a few hours of restudying everything, you felt your eyelids getting heavy and you let your body collapse on the bed as you drifted into a dreamless slumber.
