CHAPTER 67

[ 2 years later... ]

SPIRO GRAY

"HOW ARE YOU?" I smirked at dad. He's holding two can of beers and I guess, that's for us. I'm enjoying the fresh air at the pool area when he suddenly went here, too. Inabot niya sakin ang isang beer na binuksan ko agad.

"Never been better since she left us," I chuckled softly. "But since she left Skyros, too, I'm trying my best to be a good dad for him."

"I never thought that you'll be at this point," He smirked back. "When you were a little kid, I never imagined that you'll be a dad since I only see you as a young boy begging his mom to buy him a bike."

Hindi ako umimik at nanatiling nakatitig lang sa can ng beer. My son is already sleeping in his room.

"I miss her every day, dad,"

"Why don't you follow her? It's been... almost 2 years and half, right?" I licked my lips as I nodded.

He's right. It's been two years and five months since Phamela left. When she left us, it's never been easy for us. Every Christmas, New years, birthdays, si Skyros lang ang pumupunta ro'n para mag-celebrate. She doesn't want me to go.

My siblings are married and with kids already, same with my cousins. Ako na lang ata ang napag-iiwanan. Even my youngest sister, Snow, she's married.

"I don't want to disturb her, dad. Ayoko ring pangunahan siya. All I can do is to wait for her. She's still healing, I think. Hindi naging madali para sakanya ang lahat." Akala ko buwan lang ang itatagal niya do'n. I never thought that she'll stay there for almost three years.

Dad chuckled. "Ikaw din, baka pag-uwi no'n, kasal na." I can't stop myself from glaring at him.

"She'll never do that, dad. Nangako siya samin na babalik siya." He chuckled even more.

"Babalik nga siya pero hindi naman niya sinabi na pagbalik niya ay papakasalan ka niya, right? I heard Zero Espinoza followed her."

Mas lalong uminit ang ulo ko. Alam ko ang tungkol do'n. Zero followed her, but I trust Phamela. Hindi na ako nagpapadala ngayon sa selos at galit.

"She won't betray us, dad."

"Betray? Why? She's not committed, Spiro. Kay Sky lang siya may pananagutan. And isa pa, she's getting better there. Naabot niya na lahat ng pangarap niya. Bakit hindi pa siya umuwi? I really think that she's dating Zero."

"Stop it, dad. She's not dating him!"

I'm still waiting for her. I love her truly and deeply. Kahit na sinabi niya saking huwag maghintay sakanya dahil walang kasiguraduhan kung anong mangyayari pag-uwi niya.

I even built a mansion for us here! Hindi pa namin tinitirhan ang mansion dahil hinihintay pa namin si Phamela... kahit walang kasiguraduhan.

"Spiro, hindi biro ang ginawa mo kay Phamela. Magsisi ka man, nangyari na ang mga nangyari. It's not easy to forgive and to heal lalo na't may batang nawala."

"Dad, I said I don't want to talk about Serine." Iritado kong sambit.

"Okay, I'm sorry."

Nang mag 7 year-old si Skyros ay pinapunta siya kay Phamela. He celebrated his 7th birthday with his mom, but they did not allow me to go with my son.

Phamela's not ready to see me yet because she's seeing her therapist at sinabing 'wag munang lumapit sa taong dahilan kung ba't nangyari sakanya 'yon and that's me.
