Randhir sir's p.o.v

It was 11:30 p.m.. I was doing my work when my phone buzzed. First I ignored but then it again started. I sighed and looked at it. I saw the caller id and got surprised and happy as well... It was my school friend Tanu means Tanmaya Mohanty... My buddy.. My JNV friend.

I picked up the phone...

Me - Tanu... Aau kana bhai ete dina pare..  doctor baabu bahut busy na kana??
( Tanu.. aur kya bhai itne din baad... Doctor sahab bohot busy hai kya??)

Before he could have said something he started coughing....

Me - Tanu... Are you ok??

Tanmaya - han re mu theek achhi.. aau sorry a covid duty re bahut busy rahuhhi  toh call b kari paruni. Mu toh ghara ku b jai paaruni.
( Haan yaar main theek hun.. aur sorry haan ye covid duty ki wajah se bohot busy rehta hun isilye call karne ka time hi nehi milta. main toh ghar bhi nehi jaa pa raha hun)

Me - Tanu you are taking care of yourself right??? Bhai tu khhasuchhu kana pain?
( Tanu you are taking care of yourself right??? Bhai tu khaas kyun raha hai? I asked him worriedly..)

Tanmaya - aree it's nothing yaar... I am fine...

Me - hmm are you in hospital now...

Tanmaya - hmm

Me - I am so so proud of you... Thanks for everything you guys are doing for us..

Tanmaya - thanks to you Randhir... It's just because of you that I am here today.

Me - kana be ebe thanks b kahuchhu... You are here because you had worked hard...
( Kya be abhi thanks bhi bol raha hai.. you are here because you had worked hard)

Tanmaya - no Randhir  not at all... Do you know why I called you now... Because I wanted to thank you...

Me - Tanu what are you talking about??? I haven't done anything yaar...

Tanmaya - please Randhir please hear me out today..

Me - hmmm...

Tanmaya - you know what Randhir you were always there for me... You always helped me.. we spent 7 years in JNV and you were always ready to help me in everything...

I know it's too late to confess this but please listen to me...

Me - Tanu lis..

Tanmaya - no please listen to me first...

You became my teacher my guide... you always solved my each and every problem and what I did... I just took for you for granted...

Not for once I thanked you properly...

I was able to crack NEET because you taught me.

You are the best teacher one can ever have Randhir.. Science students are always selfish when it comes to study but you were always an exception Randhir.

I met many people but I couldn't find a person like you sanga( friend)

I still don't know why you couldn't crack NEET... But you were the most deserving person... I was nothing Randhir but you made me capable enough to achieve my aim...

I know you are wondering that why I am saying all these after so many years... I am saying this because I realised that I failed as a friend to you...

When the result came I became so happy that I forgot everything what you had done for me. I told my result but when I got to know about yours I didn't even care about it.
