Only Time Will Tell

Water Broke?

~Kamala and Doug's House 6:05 am

Kamala wakes up and is having contractions

Kamala- "Dougie!!!.... Ow, Ow, Ow, Ow, this hurts"

Doug wakes up and sits up and gives Kamala his hand, "breathe in and out, I'm guessing another contraction"

Kamala-"yes, just now, that one lasted for 30 seconds"

Doug- "I'm going to start timing them again, like I did earlier, this one is 3 hours since the last one"

Kamala- "okay, I think playtime helped, I been having contractions all night. They haven't hurt till now earlier it felt like cramps I get during my cycle, that's why I didn't say anything, help me up, I have to pee again"

Doug- "okay" He helps Kamala get out of bed

Doug gets takes his phone it was on the nightstand, and starts timing Kamala's contractions.

A few minutes later Kamala comes into the kitchen, wearing her pj's.

Kamala- "owe, owe, owe, Dougie this hurts give me your hand"

Doug gives Kamala his hand and he helps her sits down in a chair"

Kamala- "that one is over"

6:20 am

Maya and Meena are over for breakfast. Kamala is now standing near the door wall.

Maya- "Kam, have you had anymore contractions since early this morning when you called me"

Before Kamala can answer she has another contraction  "ow ow ow ow, this hurts Dougie!!"

Doug- "this time it was 15 minutes later and how long did it last, Honey, I think your water broke, there's a puddle under you, and the puddle is getting bigger"

Kamala- "30 seconds, it did I'm all wet, it looks like I went pee"

Doug- "Meena, go and get her bag and the pillow it is on the chair next to our bed and get Kamryn's diaper bag and well, and get her phone it's on the nightstand on Kam's side of the bed"

Meena-"ok I will be right back"

Meena goes into Kamala and Doug's room and get Kamala's bag, Kamryn's diaper bag and Kamala's phone while Maya and Doug help Kamala sit down in the chair.

Meena comes back a minute later she also has a few towels with her and she puts them on the floor where Kamala's water broke.

Doug- "Breathe Honey breathe...." I said repeatedly as she was screaming in pain that took over her. Maya and Meena coached her through it all as I got Dr. Grey on the phone telling her about Kamala's water breaking.

Dr. Grey- "Okay, I'm already at the hospital, when you get here, come to the 3rd floor which is labor and delivery, I will call registration and tell them and also tell Kamala that I reserved her a deluxe suite"

Doug- "thanks, we are leaving now"

Dr. Grey- "see you soon"

Doug hangs up the phone and puts Kamala's phone in his pocket.

"Dougie!!!!!" Kamala's screams were piercing. The painful scream of a mother that's about to give birth.

Doug- "Meena, Maya, Dr. Grey said we need to  leave now, and she's waiting for us, she said go to the labor and delivery unit on the 3rd floor"

Maya- "Kamala I have your bag, and Kamryn's diaper bag here's your slip on chucks, hold my hand while I put them on for you" Meena, and Doug, you sit with Kam, I will drive"

Doug- "I got you Honey, we're on our way." I said putting her in the back seat as Meena took Kamala's bag and pillow.

Meena- "Auntie here's a towel to sit on in the car, I will call Nick from the car and tell him, Auntie's in labor."

Doug- "thanks Meena"

Meena calls Nick and he answers the phone

Meena- "Sweetheart, Auntie's in labor, her water broke and we are in the car on the way to hospital, get Amara and Leela and meet me there, call me when you get there I will come down and bring you to the labor and delivery floor"

Nick- "ok, I will get the girls' ready and pack their diaper bags, where is your pillow and your cover that you use to feed Leela?"

Meena- "in our room on our bed, my cover is in Leela's diaper bag"

Nick- "okay, I will go and get ready now and call you when I get to the hospital"

Meena- "thanks, bye"

Maya- "Meena, call Tony and tell him"

Meena- "okay"

Meena calls Tony and he answers when he sees Meena calling him"

Meena- "Hi Tony, Maya asked me to call and tell you we are on the way to the hospital, Auntie's in labor, when you get there, call me, I will bring you to the labor and delivery unit, it's the UCLA birth center at Santa Monica"

Tony- "okay, I'm leaving now"

Kamala cries as the pain began to hit her. She's now having regular contractions. "owe, owe owe this hurts, this is all your fault Dougie"

Doug's holding Kam's hand and trying to comfort her.
                  
Meena- "Don't worry Auntie, we're getting there very soon just take my hand and squeeze it if you feel another contraction."

Kamala grips on her left hand while holding Doug's right hand.  Kamala begin groaning in pain. After a 10 minute ride, we made it to the birth center at UCLA Santa Monica as Maya parked the car and ran out to get help. The nurses spotted us and soon the doctors came out with a wheelchair as they opened the door for Kamala, to help her in the wheelchair and roll her inside. I began following with the belongings, at the same time we pulled up so did Tony and Nick"

Nurse- "we are going to labor and delivery"

Doug- "when we were on the tour last week they said at check my wife could have  a deluxe suite"

Nurse - "yes that is true and you can, that's where we are going"

Doug - "thank you"

Nick - "Tony, Amara, Leela, and I will wait here"
