Only Time Will Tell

Lunchtime part 3

I would like to thank KamalalovezDoug 4 her help with writing this

~At the Deli~ 1/2 hour later ~12:15~

Kamala, Maya, and Meena are sitting at their table eating their lunch, Kamala got a Greek Salad with chicken and Maya and Meena got a turkey club sandwich with ruffles.

Maya- "Sis, how are you feeling, besides being exhausted"

Kamala- "I'm still sore, and yes I'm exhausted, but I wouldn't change anything, I love Kamryn so much, we got your present at home, and your cake, I didn't make it, I don't have the energy at the moment, I asked Mommy to make it"

Maya- "Sis, thank you, I already got my present, which was to share my birthday with Kamryn"

Kamala- (whispers) "Maya, ow"

Maya- "are you full"?

Kamala- "yes, and it hurts, I will finish my salad when I get home, and I'm leaking, can I have my jacket"

Maya- "of course, here it is"

Kamala puts on her jacket and Maya pays the bill and the waitress brings a containers for everyone.

Meena-  "okay, I will finish when we get back to your house"

Maya- "I will finish my salad also"

~In the car~

Kamala hears her phone and she sees Doug's name on the caller id. "Hey Dougie, I hear Kamryn crying, we are almost home, we are turning on our street, what's Leela doing"

Doug- "Leela is taking her nap, I put her in Kamryn's crib about an hr ago, she was watching Sesame Street, and I saw she was starting to fall asleep so I picked her up before she started crying so she wouldn't wake Kamryn up"

Kamala- "ok, we are pulling up in the driveway, I will be in a minute, I know what our princess wants, and I'm leaking like a faucet"

Doug- "see you soon, Love you"

Kamala- "Love you too"

Maya- "I heard Kamryn crying she wants Momala"

Meena- "where is Leela, I didn't hear her, but I heard Kamryn, and now I'm leaking"

Kamala- "she's taking her nap in Kamryn's crib"

Meena sees the clock "it's her nap time, you go inside, I will get the bag with our lunches, Kamryn wants her mommy"

Kamala comes into the family room and she sees Doug holding Kamryn, while she's crying, trying to comfort her.

Doug- "Kamryn, look Mommy's here, Hi Honey, how was lunch" and he gives her a kiss

Kamala- "lunch was good but I didn't finish, I brought it home, Princess, its okay, Mommy's here, and she will feed you, I know your hungry"

Kamala sits down in the recliner, and unsnaps her tank top and Kamryn latches on right away and starts nursing. "thank you for telling me to go out lunch with Meena and Maya"

Doug- "let me guess, you were half way through lunch like when we went you got full and were hurting"

Kamala- "yes, I brought the rest of my Greek Salad home, I will finish when Kamryn's done with her lunch"

Meena- "How was Leela?"

Doug- "she was good, we played with the blocks, her stacking rings, and your right she wiggles when getting changed, but I gave her one of her toys to hold and she was very good"

Meena- "Auntie, Kamryn's really going at it"

Kamala- "yes she is, she's hungry, I think she's growing, because it wasn't even 2 hours and she was hungry, the last couple days she's been wanting to nurse every hour and half, and she's nursing for longer before we left, she nursed for 35 minutes, and usually she's done at a half hour"

Meena- "she could be, do you have a baby carrier that you wear"

Kamala- "I do, why"

Meena- "what I did when Leela was a newborn was I was wearing it and I had Leela in it and she loved the skin to skin,  even if I was sitting on the couch, that way my hands were empty"

Kamala- "I will try it when Kamryn is done eating" She sees that she has unlatched, and she burps her... a few minutes later Kamryn burps. "Princess, you need your diaper changed, I smell popcorn, I think you and your cousin wore daddy out, he's sound asleep on the couch"

Meena- "aww look that's so cute Auntie, I got a picture of Doug sound asleep"

Kamala- "Princess, let's change your diaper, a clean and dry diaper will feel better and Mommy wants to see if your diaper rash is any better then it was this morning"

Meena- "diaper rash already"

Kamala- "yes, her butt was really red this morning when I changed her, and I knew from babysitting Amara and Leela that meant diaper rash, that could be why she was more fussy in the middle of the night"

Meena- "it could have been"

Kamala lays Kamryn down on the changing pad and takes off her pants, and unsnaps her onesie, and she has the clean diaper and wipes ready, she undoes her diaper that is on, and she cleans her and she puts cream on her rash, which looks a little better then it did this morning.

Meena- "Auntie, how's her rash"?

Kamala- "its still red, but not as red as it was this morning, do I need to call her doctor, Meena, what do you think?"

Meena- "Auntie, diaper rashes are normal for babies, even Amara gets them, I would use the rash cream, I got you, and if you don't notice it's not getting better in a few days, then I would call and bring her in"

Kamala- "thanks Meena, her butt is still red but its not as red as it was this morning, do you think I could leave her diaper off and put a potty pad in her bassinet, for a little bit or would she get too cold, I don't want her to get sick, but I also don't want her to be uncomfortable"

Meena- "I would leave it off if she's going to be laying in her bassinet but if your going to hold her, then no. After you clean her, to let her dry, but no longer then that, and put her cream on, and then get her dressed again, if you notice its not getting better then yes call her doctor"

Kamala- "okay thanks, Meena, I know you would know about Mommy questions I'm going to have, when she takes her nap, I will take her diaper off, and put a potty pad in her bassinet, but I want to hold her, I missed her while we were at lunch but it was nice to have lunch with the 3 of us"

Meena- "Auntie, you're welcome, you will figure out what works, and what doesn't, every baby is different, where is the baby carrier"

Kamala- "thanks, Meena I hear Leela's up, look at the monitor, and she's rolling over, it's over on Dougie's chair, he asked me to put it on yesterday so he could adjust the straps so it would fit me"

Meena- "I see that, I'm going to go and get her I'm full, and I don't want her to wake  Doug up, I will be back, I'm going to feed her in Kamryn's room"

Kamala puts on her baby carrier and then she puts Kamryn inside of it and goes to get the rest of her lunch and sits at the table to eat.

Kamala- "okay, I'm going to finish my lunch, while Dougie takes his nap"
