I sat still as Lorenzo runs a series of test on me and asked me a few questions about how I'm feeling.

I felt weak. I couldn't even stand on my own two feet without falling back to the ground. My muscles are tense and my throat felt sore.

Apart from all these likely symptoms, I felt empty inside; like there was something missing from my life. Honestly, I don't know what it is.

Maybe I was just over thinking about Layla's situation. I'm upset with Blade for not agreeing to let the little girl stay with us.

He knew that.

His hand rested on my thighs. He squeezed soothingly. The look on his face was unreadable but his eyes stared apologetically at me.

I ignored him.

The tension between us was thick. It rippled with anger and irritation.

Lorenzo felt uncomfortable in our presence as he scribbled down a few words on his notepad.

He finally cleared his throat, breaking the long awaited silence and said, "You have a fever, Ms. D'angelo. I actually thought you were pregnant when I heard the symptoms. The tests I conducted shows that you're coming down with a fever which needs to be countered before it gets worse."

I sighed in relief.

Having a baby of my own is something I have always dreamed of. But at this point in time, I didn't need one. It's going to be a lot of pressure.

Blade looked relieved when he heard I wasn't pregnant but concerned at my condition.

I wasn't surprised. He isn't good with kids. He doesn't understand them. Maybe that's why he insisted that Layla stays in an orphanage home.

He doesn't understand her. He doesn't understand the horrors she has been through. He has no idea how badly the abuse has affected her.

It made a terrible impact in her life.

Lorenzo hands a piece of paper to Blade. "I've prescribed the drugs that she will need. Please, ensure that she takes them, Blade. It would prevent the fever from getting worse."

"No problem, doc." Blade answered. He stood up and walked the doctor out while talking to one of his guards on the phone to get the drugs.

Few minutes after they left, Camilla and Azzurra came bounding into the room with concerned looks on their faces.

"Sienna! Are you okay?" Azzurra exclaimed. She sat on the spot next to me and draped her arm over my shoulder.

I smiled at her affection. "I'm fine."

"Blade told us what happened to you." Camilla whispered in a soft tone. "For a second there, I thought I was going to be an aunt."

I rolled my eyes. "I'm not ready to have kids, Cam."

"Keep saying it until you believe it, princessa." Camilla said, sitting at the foot of the bed. "Anyway, how are you feeling?"

I sighed. "I'm okay.... I feel a bit weak but... I'm fine. Where's Isabel?"

I didn't realize her absence until now.

Azzurra folded her hands on her lap and answered, "She had to visit her mom in rehab along with Diego. They had an emergency call from one of the nurses there that her mom had a panic attack which resulted to temper tantrums. It made some of the patients go into shock."

Camilla gasped. "Is she okay?"

"I haven't heard back from them in a while. Honestly, I really hope everything's fine. They lost their dad last year and adding their mom to the list would only complicate things further." Azzurra admitted her concern with a deep sigh.
