𝒀𝒆𝒐𝒏𝒋𝒖𝒏 hadn't seem soobin for the last three days. it wasn't like he didn't want to, but he simply couldn't bring himself to, not when his mother's death anniversary was so close, and now here. it wasn't a topic he liked to talk about, his mother, that is, but it seemed almost impossible not to in such day, way more if he tried to not even think of the woman.

"daniel. i need you to eat something, just a little, please." taemin stared at him with furrowed brows, watching the king look expressionlessly through the window of his room. they still weren't back with their usual interactions, yeonjun kept distant and the crystalian couldn't seem to manage bringing him back.

the red haired hummed, not averting his eyes to look at the other. he knew he owned the older an apology and an explanation, but couldn't actually say it. yeonjun was scared that if he said how much taemin was important to him, he would lose the male, so keeping his distance and being cold seemed almost as a way to avoid anything to happen.

"i don't have appetite right now."

"i know, but you need to eat, dan." taemin sighed, sitting on the royal's bed and looking at his hands. he didn't know what to do anymore, with yeonjun, with himself, with the kingdom, with his vision and with the weight that came with all that. "can i ask you something?"

"yes." the red haired replied simply, lowering his head and going back into writing and signing things regarding the kingdoms. he was creating a new scheme of food supply distribution between hell, limbo and both multiple cities, aiming at a more equal and fair division. he couldn't possibly have one of his land's areas starving.

"can you allow me to enter queen mira's greenhouse today?" yeonjun stopped writing, turning to look at the male with cold eyes.

"why? i don't want anyone there for a reason, that doesn't change just because she died today." the shorter blinked in surprise, not expecting for the male to mention the topic so directly and coldly. the next second though, he turned his head to the side, trying to hide how his eyes got glossy. it hurt him to be treated so indifferently by yeonjun, as if they were nothing but strangers. taemin took a deep breath, getting up from where he was sat and staring at the other.

"i know today's a sensitive date, but you've been treating me bad for the past weeks and if you plan on continuing this shit, i will have to ask to leave the castle." the red haired's breath got caught in his throat, the word 'leave' managing to make him froze in place. "i don't want to, daniel. you're the most important person to me, but i can't stand how you're hurting me just because you are hurting. i'm a person too, i hurt too, and i've been coping with this behavior for too long already."

"taemin." the king stared at the older, same cold face that wasn't even close to express what he actually felt.

"don't fucking do that. i'm trying my best, can't you tell? and i know you're trying your best too, but i at least recognize that." the crystalian's pretty face was morphed in anger, teary eyes and furrowing brows managing to hurt yeonjun's heart. he was never able to see someone he cared and loved, suffering, way less if it was because of him. "i wanted to plant a flower for her. i know she did it for you and ruby, so i wanted to give one that represented her too, that you and your sister could have as a piece of her somehow. i wanted to do it because i fucking care about you, so stop being so stupid and letting your fear ruin us. i only have you, daniel, you doing this to me makes me lose someone too, you know? you're not the only one losing."
