𝑻𝒉𝒆 angel whined softly, blinking his eyes slowly as he woke up, only to realize he was alone. it wasn't like yeonjun had left him alone in a room or something of the sort, no, he was alone while surrounded by nothing but darkness, a light he didn't know where came from above him as a spotlight. he looked around, trying to find something, anything, but was only faced by endless shadows.

soobin got up slowly, not sure of what to think, he was okay, not in pain or hurt, but that didn't help to make him feel safer at all. the whole thing was weird and uneasy, it made him want to go home, to see yeonjun, to check if he was actually alive or if it was just fruit of his own mind. he raised his hand, grazing his fingers over his cheeks to check if they were wet from all the crying. they weren't. was he dreaming then? was he... dead?

the male turned around quickly as if out of instinct, feeling a presence behind him, and held his breath for a moment in fear of what he would see. it wasn't kept like that for long, however, and soobin realese his breath as soon as he came face to face with a kid. a little boy with onyx irises, red hair and black wings, a kid with foxy eyes and plump lips.

yeonjun.

soobin furrowed, getting on his knees in front of the boy and staring at him. could that be really yeonjun when he was younger? it was hard to believe it wasn't when they looked so similar. though, the little kid had the most shining eyes soobin had ever seen, big irises staring at him as if they carried all the hope in the world, as if he was a personification of innocence and endearment. the angel gently held the boy's face between his hands, feeling himself get teary eyed for reasons he couldn't understand which were.

the boy giggled, a bright and warm smile on his plump lips and soobin could swear he had never heard something as pure as that sound. little yeonjun blinked, eyes shining in a display of uncountable dreams and hopes, in a whispered secret of changing the whole world, in genuine and pure joy. that wasn't the shattered yeonjun, the traumatized one, the broken and scared, it was the demon before everything, before being faced by dark moments that ripped his petals off. that was a blooming tulip, vibrant, complete and hopeful.

soobin opened his mouth to talk, but before he could, the kid disappeared as a fog between his fingers, as a memory too fragile to be remembered for long. the angel got up, taking a step back as his heart sped up in anxiety, mind confused with what was happening, and the sudden and uncareful move caused him to trip, falling to the black ground. as soon as he hit the floor, however, he wasn't himself anymore.

he was the little kid now.

the black haired was councious yet, as if he was in someone else's body while aware of feeling and being someone he wasn't supposed to. his surroundings started to change, and he got up from the floor with the little body of a kid who wasn't himself, turning around only to be faced with hell's castle walls and a woman.

she had long red hair, plump lips and dark eyes, but those were empty, as if she didn't have anything to live for, as if breathing was torturing her. it was a stare he saw many times on yeonjun's eyes and it made soobin sure, the woman was queen mira.

"yeonjun, you know mommy loves you right?" the woman smiled gently, and the angel swore he was staring at yeonjun for a second, the two were so alike, both smiles were delicate and warm, as if they could light up the whole world while not doing the same with their own insides. "you're my tulip."
