𝒀𝒆𝒐𝒏𝒋𝒖𝒏 took a deep breath, finally opening his eyes. it was a familiar scene, one that used to happen some time ago, but now was way worse. the male's nose was filled with the smell of blood, his blood, as he stared blankly at the wall in front of him. it was the third day he spent inside the training room, the third day he didn't get out for anything. he had lost the count of times he passed out from exhaustion, his body begging for a rest, covered in crimson and dripping rhythmically on the pool of blood around him.
the king blinked slowly, trying to find in himself the strength to get up, but not even sure if he wanted to. he couldn't heal himself, not when all the pain and weakness was caused by his own powers, so getting up felt harder than it was supposed to. yeonjun had came back to his old and self-destructive habit, but even more than before, losing two people seemed to do a lot and nothing at all to him at the same time. his eyes were focused on the wall in front of him, as if it had the answers of all his problems, though he knew it didn't.
the male still couldn't feel nothing, as if he was an empty shell of the person he once was. he couldn't even feel his heartbeat, to the point that he had to put a hand on his chest to confirm he was still alive and breathing. he guessed it made sense, ruby was his heart after all, so maybe he was emptier than he thought. no more heart, no more family, no more safe place. it seemed almost like a joke.
something had changed in him the moment he stared at ruby and taemin's bodies, something had died with them.
yeonjun raised his hand, staring at the somewhat dark fog he could use now, spending days training and forcing his mind to the limit again and again paid off after all, he could access another one of his bloodline members and their powers. it was interesting, maybe even his favorite one, but it would take quite some time for the demon to develop it enough, like he did with his mind control.
darkness. yeonjun could control darkness now.
the red haired didn't really know to which extent the power could go, as he had just got it, but it felt so intense and consuming he assumed it had great extends. yeonjun's lips curved into a small smile, creeping on his features before he started to laugh alone inside the empty room. he could feel after all, his powers running through his veins, flooding his mind with euphoria and luring him into wanting more, more and more power.
yeonjun started to cough in the middle of his laughter, spitting blood on the already crimson floor and feeling himself getting lightheaded. he didn't care, he didn't mind passing out, didn't mind starving, didn't mind struggling to stand up, because he knew it would be worth it, he knew it was nothing compared to finally feeling.
the male used the back of his hand to clean his bloodied mouth, lips still curved in a grin when doing so. his mind was filled with thoughts, running non stop in an obsessive remind of things he needed to do. yeonjun didn't have a heir anymore and considering his already confirmed death, he needed to solve the problem as soon as possible. it was a cold way of seeing his sister's death.
yeonjun got up slowly, using the wall to support himself before closing his eyes and resting his back on the surface. it happened all four days ago, the deaths, the torture, the start of lacking feeling things.
the first day, after he told beomgyu to clean things and left, was surprisingly boring. he simply went back to his office and started to solve things that got ruined by the events, formulating another plan, listing to himself what he needed to do and obsessively searching for any other little mistake that could possibly happen. there wasn't any. after that, the need of locking himself in the training room came, though before doing so he did one more thing; sealed his mother's greenhouse.
