𝑻𝒉𝒆 angel sighed in annoyance for the nth time, the guards in front of hell's castle kept on not letting him in and it was starting to get on his nerves. soobin got worried sick after knowing the news and he needed to see yeonjun, to know if he was okay, to hold him and dry his tears, but it was hard to do so when he couldn't get inside the palace.

he had been trying for the past week.

"i'm sorry prince soobin, but your majesty was very clear when ordering to not let anyone enter." the gargoyle said gently, lips pressed together in pity. it wasn't her decision to make, but she indeed felt guilty for not letting the angel inside after he had been trying for days. she even got used to seeing soobin early in the morning in front of the gates while with furrowed brows, just like she got of telling over and over she couldn't open the castle.

the word had spread really fast through hell and limbo, as it was their princess to have died, but not a single word was spoken about the topic, their king stayed inside and in complete silence. it was comprehensive though, his sister had died, and so the people knew he needed time, it wasn't like he neglected the kingdom after it either way. though, it was worrisome, yeonjun was actually cared for among citizens and they wondered if he was okay or not.

"i'm his boyfriend, for fuck's sake!" soobin groaned, sitting on the chair the guards had placed for him beside the gates, as the first day he spent standing until it turned dark. everyone knew about the two royals relationship, even if not exactly what it was, so the angel's words weren't a surprise for the guard.

"i understand, your highness, but i still cannot open the gates." the black haired was ready to argue with the gargoyle again, even if knowing it wouldn't help at all, but stopped himself when having an idea. he felt ridiculously dumb for not thinking about asking to talk to beomgyu before, and even if he didn't know if it would work or not, it was his best option.

"let me talk to beomgyu! i don't need to enter for that, just ask him to come outside." the woman narrowed her eyes before sighing, turning to another guard and asking them to do as requested. she couldn't disobey the king's orders, but she was worried too and would gladly help soobin as best as she could.

it didn't even took five minutes for the male to appear, as if he already knew soobin was outside. he looked with tired eyes at the the black haired, lips pressed in a line.

"hey soobin, come inside. we should talk."

"sir, your majesty had prohibited the entry of anyone." beomgyu nodded, smiling to the gargoyle while patting her shoulder.

"i know yara, but i'm the person with most authority after the royal family and close friend with the king. you can let him in, don't worry." the woman nodded, finally opening the gates and letting the angel in, a small relieved sigh leaving her lips when doing so.

"how is he?" was the first thing soobin asked, not even waiting for the door behind him to get closed before doing so. he furrowed his brows when beomgyu sighed, shoulders dropping in defeat.

"i don't know. he doesn't talk to me about it, nor shows any sign of what he's feeling. i don't know what to do, soobin." the taller bit his lip, eyes getting slightly teary with the words. he knew yeonjun kept everything inside, it was clear enough when he didn't even cried or showed any emotion when talking about his mother's death.

"what about taemin? danny always talks to him, doesn't he know anything?" the long haired averted his eyes with the question, body visibly getting tense after the words were spoken.

"i forgot you don't know."

"know what?" beomgyu stared at the royal's worried eyes, not even knowing how to say it. the fact taemin died was kept hidden from the kingdom, it was a necessary measure when it would almost give away there was someone behind the deaths, as two people couldn't simply die out of nowhere, even more when being the closest to the king.

"taemin died too, soobin." the gargoyle closed his eyes, somewhat feeling guilty. it wasn't his fault, of course, but knowing about the vision the crystalian had made him guilty of his death. there wasn't anything he could do though, and he knew that.

"but- i-" soobin didn't know what to say, it was a surprise to know taemin died too.

"he asked me to give you something days before it happened." beomgyu put his hands on his pocket, picking two black envelopes from it and staring at them for a moment. "i will keep them for now, okay? you should go see daniel first. come find me before leaving and i will explain things to you."

"okay." soobin let out softly, almost as a whisper. it was too much to take, before, he only thought ruby died but knowing taemin did too? yeonjun was most definitely way worse than he firstly thought and it worried him, a lot. the angel knew the red haired, he could see a lot through his eyes, and the importance both had to him was enormous, just like the amount of things he kept to himself.

"before you go." the long haired held the older's wrist gently, brows furrowed when doing so. "i'm sorry." he averted his eyes to soobin, staring at him with glossy and amber obs that held more than the angel could understand. "i knew you were outside and wanting to see daniel, i knew since the day you came for the first time."

"why didn't you let me in then? i've been coming for a week, beomgyu, standing there and asking to see danny every day." the angel furrowed his brows, taking the male's hand off his wrist. "you don't have to like me, i know what i did to daniel, but we both know he needs someone right now and if not taemin, i'm the only other person he talks to."

"it's not that, okay? i don't care about what happened between you two, i mean, it's fucking obvious you love him, so you probably had a reason for doing what you did. the thing is, it was better to wait, i wasn't sure if you should talk to him last week. i'm not even sure if you should now."

beomgyu rubbed his forehead, uneasiness clearly taking over his features. if he was being honest, he never really blamed soobin for not staying with yeonjun, be knew that just like the demon was a complicated person, the angel probably was one too. it wasn't his business, nor his right to judge the taller without even knowing him, so he never spoke about their relationship. he was just worried about yeonjun after they broke up, nothing else. if forgetting soobin would make the demon feel better, then of course he wanted it to happen, but the king knew what he was doing. beomgyu couldn't tell him what to do or feel, though he was aware he didn't know everything that happened like taemin did, so maybe that was why he didn't really have an opinion about the topic like the crystalian did. either way, he would never keep soobin waiting outside only because of grudge.

"why?"

"i don't know, soobin. daniel, he-" the male sighed, biting his lips as if trying to find the right words. "he's acting differently. he's way too cold and doesn't seem to care about what happened at all. i'm afraid he might just explode and i'm not sure if you being there would be safe. i didn't let you in because i think there's a chance of you getting hurt."

"daniel would never hurt me beomgyu. doesn't matter how much he's bottling up or how he's angry, he would never lay a finger on me." soobin gave the younger a small smile, trying to reassure him somehow. he really meant it, he was more than certain yeonjun wouldn't hurt him, there wasn't even a question or a doubt, not when the demon looked at him and touched him the way he did.

yeonjun loved him. not like victor did, but in the most warm and pretty way soobin could think of, and so, the angel trusted him with his life, soul and maybe even more. it was a thought he got after realizing that not only it was okay to love the red haired, but that he already did, and it made a lot of things clearer inside his mind and heart. there was no need to be afraid of the older like he was with his ex, yeonjun was nothing like victor.

"you're right." beomgyu nodded, feeling tired. he hoped soobin could help because he know he himself couldn't, even if wanting to. "he's in his room, he's been there all day."

"okay, thank you. i will see you later." the taller smiled, but it got dropped as soon as he turned around and started to walk to yeonjun's room. he didn't want beomgyu to know, but he was scared, not of what could happen to himself, but of what he would see.

soobin was scared of how broken yeonjun could be.
