𝑨 year had passed since yeonjun and soobin got back together, a year where they took things slowly and with calm, without the hurry that always seemed present before. they sat together in a picnic and watched the sunset together, and saw the same sun rise at times soobin slept in hell's palace. all simple things that took part in living and that yeonjun craved so hard for, were being done by the two. together.
the angel had taken that time to get even closer to his family, to built a relation he never had the chance of experiencing, and he couldn't be more grateful for yeonjun for giving him that year. if the king had asked, soobin knew he would've gone to hell the same day they got together, even if still keeping in touch and visiting heaven frequently, but it wouldn't be same. soobin wouldn't know every little single habit his siblings had and what fruit his mother liked more, it were simple and small things, but that carried great importance for him, and he was glad to know them.
the decision benefited yeonjun too in some way, he went to the other kingdom way more with intentions of visiting soobin and, in the end, it was quite inevitable to not grow slightly closer to the angelic family. of course, they weren't friends, but there was a mutual respect now, and one another's company could be enjoyed. queen ann didn't even hate the male now, even if making clear that if he hurt soobin she wouldn't let her title stop her from beating him good. yeonjun laughed when such thing was spoken, but he knew she was being serious about it.
the red haired was more than busy now, being able to live without having to plan how everything would be left after he died was a lot easier. he had managed to fully merge limbo and hell, taking down any laws regarding the separation of species between the two places, making any species able to live freely on his kingdom without any stopping or prejudice. it took a lot of work and magic as such laws were made by ancient rulers who knew a completely different set of enchantments and magic, including demonic one, who had been lost over the years.
jungkook had thought the demon to do the impossible, unifying two kingdoms without both being under the greatest law was borderline insanity and yet, yeonjun had done it. the red haired still carried the same hope he had when five years old and a dream, he hadn't given up on rhemira; he couldn't. yeonjun had held that idealism inside his heart all his life, and even if in the way he himself turned it into something ugly and putrid, he knew he could make it better again, so he did.
rhemira was finally reachable, an inch away from his grasp, and he knew by heart he could make it. he would make it. yeonjun didn't need to be the ruler of everything, not when rhemira wasn't supposed to be about power, and now he had his head in place to know that, it was about the people and their rights, about equality. the demon didn't want a single crown, he just wanted to give the world what it deserved, give soobin a world he deserved, and jungkook would never go against such thing.
soobin didn't quite know yet, about the plan of unifying hell and heaven, but he would soon when things became more certain. yeonjun had worked hard for that, had presented the idea to jungkook with all plans made and arguments as to why that was the only answer. he was calculating, a strategist, and sometimes that suffocated him to the core, but yeonjun knew that if he used that in the right way, there would be no lack of air who would take the liberty of knowing he did something great for the people.
after that year, of months of preparation, the two kingdoms were almost ready to take the idea out of paper, and yeonjun was possibly never happier. rhemira was created for his mother in the start, in her memory and how he didn't want anyone to suffer like she did when alive. it was created so no kids would turn out like him, disinherited and scared of living, was created for everyone who was never able to experience freedom and happiness. rhemira was always something beautiful and special, and yeonjun couldn't be more proud of himself for managing to bring that beauty back after turning it black.
