𝑺𝒐𝒐𝒃𝒊𝒏 always had a lot of doubts in his life, regarding himself and others, of heaven and all elyhea. they came to him naturally, doubting he would be adopted when in the orphanage, doubting he could have friends when a child, doubting he could be loved and then doubting he could get rid of love, doubting if he was enough, doubting if the person he was is lovable, doubting if he could heal his wounds, doubting he would get away alive, doubting yeonjun loved him, and now doubting he could be strong enough to save not only himself, but the demon too.
it wasn't his job, nor something he needed to do, save yeonjun, that is, but he couldn't possibly go against his heart, who begged him to try. soobin realized loving the king hurt, every second and every heartbeat dedicated to yeonjun hurt, every smile and blushed cheeks, every touch and every word. it hurt more than the physical pain victor gave him, way more, because knowing he had the red haired right there, with both loving each other, but never being able to actually stay with the male, gave him a feeling he never had before, nor wished to.
he could at least understand what the male had felt now, how he hurt when soobin left and didn't say he loved him too.
yeonjun was hurting, but he still tried. he still gave soobin everything he didn't even know he needed, he still remained patient so the angel could be healed enough to love again, he still stayed and loved soobin. the king caressed him even when thinking he was the only one having the warmth spreading on his chest, he smiled at soobin even when his heart was bleeding, and he loved the younger, made him feel loved, even when he thought he could never have soobin.
the angel was too hurt once, too wounded, but yeonjun was there to try and heal him.
and soobin would be there too. to try, to hold, to smile and to love.
it would hurt, though, he knew it would, but he had to try. the warmth in the demon's eyes, the gentleness in his touches, the care in his lips and the love he showed soobin just by touch were there to remind him that it would be worth it. yeonjun wasn't a bad person, way less a monster, and after reading taemin's letter, he discovered the male to be just scared, like after losing his mother he was never able to stop living in fear.
soobin hugged his legs, resting his chin on his knees as he watched the sun kiss the horizon as if telling soon it would be it's time to set. the soft breeze moved his hair lightly, strands gently caressing his forehead, and the sound of water lulled his thoughts into tranquility. he was sat on the trunk of a big tree near the river, the large tree falling diagonally above the water, creating the perfect spot for someone to sit.
he went there to think, to gather his thoughts and feelings. usually, he would go straight to his secret place, but it didn't set right to go there after showing it to yeonjun. it wouldn't be as pretty and meaningful without the male there with him. funny to think the red haired managed to take his favorite place from him too, filling it with himself and his scarlet eyes, just like he did with soobin's heart.
the angel wanted to complain and regret, but he couldn't, he wouldn't want anyone else to see the secret spot, anyone else to steal his heart. yeonjun was the only person he wanted to share things of the sort with, the only one he wanted to give his heart and only one he wanted to love.
soobin's face was adorned with a pretty smile when the sky was filled with a deep blue, ready to welcome the sunset. it was in a moment exactly like that when yeonjun stared at him in the balcony of his room, crimson eyes shining as if looking at the most beautiful thing ever, as if in front of him was the love of his life, the angel of his dreams and the owner of his heart.
soobin could never forget the way yeonjun always looked at him.
the black haired's smile trembled, finding difficult to stay on his face. he was scared that one day, the demon wouldn't look at him the same way, with the same glisten and adoration. he was scared because just like he could remember every stare, he remembered every word too, including how yeonjun said he didn't want to love him anymore.
