𝑺𝒐𝒐𝒃𝒊𝒏 woke up alone, the cold bed beside him making sure to tell how the demon had left a long time ago. he wanted to be surprised, just like he wanted to be disappointed, but he wasn't, already expecting such thing. yeonjun left him after he said he loved him, so it was obvious enough he would leave after they had sex.

"bastard." the angel let out through his teeth, holding the urge of crying for the king for the nth time. he realized he was clean and healed, but didn't care enough about it, turning to the side and burying his face on the space yeonjun was laid hours before. he wondered if it would be like that every time now, waking up alone instead of with caring crimson eyes staring at him and warm hands caressing his waist.

soobin got up from his bed, using the full length mirror to see the red marks caused by chains around his body, fingers gently brushing against the one on his thigh. his eyes got filled with tears, anger of himself for being such a fool taking over him. yeonjun didn't have the right to play with his feelings like that, if he wanted to leave then he should just go and never come back, not offend him in front of his family just to furrow his brows in worry and call him 'love' the next moment.

it wasn't fair, and even if he was used and putrid, he still deserved to have minimal dignity. it wasn't like with victor, who just broke him more and more while pretending to love him, yeonjun treated him like a play thing, he pushed him away and caressed his cheeks tenderly after, and it was completely sick. soobin couldn't take it, he couldn't take such humiliation and emotional pain, he couldn't take the cold and hateful stare that turned into warm and caring in seconds. it was tiring, and he felt completely drained.

the red haired was right, soobin would always come back like a fool, he would always be led by his heart and forgive anything the male threw at him, but until when? and for what? would yeonjun stay if he ran to him after every heartbreak he himself gave soobin? would he stop playing with the angel's feelings? would he let the younger in, let him see and love every part of him? the black haired doubted it.

"you fucker!" soobin let out loudly, not able to control his tears anymore and letting them cascade down his face. "why don't you leave me alone? why do you keep on using me?" the male asked for no one, pacing around his room as his vision was blurry and lips quivering. he stopped before his nightstand, grabbing the necklace yeonjun had gave him months before, the crimson crystal glistening under the light. "do- d-do you even love me?"

it was the first time ever soobin had doubted the king's feelings, the first time ever he wasn't so sure about the gentle touches and soft stares. how could he? if yeonjun loved him so much why was he doing all of that? why was he treating him like a no one and hurting him? was it really a lie? that's why the way yeonjun treated him was so different from victor? because it was an act?

the black haired squeezed the necklace on his hand, the thought of throwing it away passing his mind in a serious way, a real possibility. he just placed it back on the surface it previously was, however, not able to do something of the sort. soobin really wanted to hate yeonjun, to despise him and fall out of love, but he couldn't, he was honest when saying the words the night before. he really could never hate the demon, didn't matter how much he wanted to.

soobin cleaned his tears harshly, not wanting to shed them anymore, and his eyes dropped on the black envelope that was rested on the nightstand for days. taemin's letter. he reached for the paper, picking the envelope and staring at it for a moment while taking a shaky breath. his name was written prettily with a silver color, the calligraphy elegant and delicate as if giving away from who it was.

the angel found scary to have a letter from someone he disliked when alive, way more when that someone died. he didn't want to think about the fact the person was too incredibly important for the demon who was the whole reason of his tears and pain, so he just opened it hesitantly, holding the expensive paper on his trembling hands. there wasn't really a reason to postpone the reading anymore.
